Q: What is Presso? For those who have never heard of it, tell us something more?
A: Presso is a robotics startup that created the world’s first robot can clean, disinfect, press, and dry clothes, all in less than 5 mins. Presso is pioneering the “instant clothing care” market with the vision of eventually creating an affordable appliance that we can have in our homes. At Presso, we imagine a future where laundry and dry-cleaning doesn’t feel like a chore anymore, as with Presso it will be as easy as microwaving food.
Presso doesn’t use the conventional dry-cleaning solvents or conventional detergent like in laundry, but it’s own proprietary cleaning and disinfecting liquids.

Q: What are some of the real-world results people can expect with your solution?
A: Presso is an inherently disruptive technology with over 300x improvement in turnaround time compared to conventional cleaners. We are starting out with commercial customers like Hollywood’s costume departments but have our eyes set on bringing the technology to the people wherever they are, such as hotels, airports, apartment complexes, business offices, and laundromats. People with access to a Presso machine can expect a whole new lifestyle where they get to wear whatever they want whenever they want, as they can instantly “presso” clothes whenever they need.
Q: You’ve recently raised $1,600,000 in pre-seed funding; can you tell us something more?
A: The funding is coming from seasoned Silicon Valley VCs who specialize in robotics. The biggest use of the funding will be in expanding our team. We are rapidly hiring and looking for trailblazers and path-breakers who want to forge the future of laundry and dry-cleaning with us. We now have open roles in every single team at Presso and encourage everyone to apply.
Apart from hiring, we plan to scale up our manufacturing and invest in fulfilling feature requests from our existing customers. We have had way more demand than we could supply and had to turn down customers. This new cash infusion will help us meet the explosive demand.
Q: What’s the best thing about Presso that people might not know about?
A: The best thing about Presso is that it actually works. People generally assume that these are just claims and it is probably impossible to clean, disinfect, press, and dry a garment in a single device, in such a short amount of time. But we have actual customers that at the time of this writing are using Presso machine to dry-cleaning clothes instantly on-site instead of sending them out and waiting several days to get them back.

Q: What are your plans for the future? Do you have any new features in the pipeline?
A: As we grow, we are developing really exciting features starting out with making Presso more portable and even smaller in size. We plan to bring instant clothing care to virtually every industry that deals with apparel and eventually to consumers in their homes.
