Below is our recent interview with Tracy Levitz from Zentist Growth Team:

Q: Could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to your company?

A: Zentist is a platform that uses advanced technology to simplify and automate insurance revenue cycle management (RCM) for dental practices.

At a time when dental businesses lose an estimated $2.1 billion due to legacy billing systems, Zentist leverages robotic process automation (RPA) and machine learning to place otherwise tedious billing tasks on autopilot.

Ato Kasymov and Manny Kurbonali co-founded Zentist with Paulina Song in 2016 with the mission to bring transparency and affordability to financial transactions in dental care.

In the first few years, they discovered that the biggest impact area that serves their mission is insurance claim transactions. They built the Zentist platform with the goal of helping dental practices collect insurance claim reimbursements faster and accurately by leveraging software and process automation. Prior to Zentist, Manny and Ato built a large network of primary care and diagnostic centers in Central Asia that services a population of 5M people across 4 cities.

Q: Any highlights on your recent announcement?

A: Zentist will be hosting an industry-first professional development opportunity for dental revenue cycle managers march 24-26, 2022 in Miami. The bootcamp is tailored to professionals working at dental support organizations (DSOs) or building DSOs.

Q: Can you give us more insights into your offering?

A: The dental industry is unique where administrative staff is concerned. There is no formal schooling or degree program. Practitioners do not take coursework in how to run their offices. Their focus is purely on patient care. Training, where the office is concerned, is typically “on the job” with institutional knowledge handed down through staff. In some instances, administrative functions are a double-duty, performed by those whose background and core responsibilities are in clinical roles. For these reasons, we’re looking to provide formalized, professional development opportunities that are lacking in the field.

Q: What can we expect from your company in the next 6 months? What are your plans?

A: Zentist is continuing to bring to dental care – a highly regulated and sophisticated industry – many technologies that are already in use and leveraged in other parts of our lives – like AI, RPA, automation, and the cloud.

Q: What is the best thing about your company that people might not know about?

A: Today, Zentist processes more than $250M in insurance billings per year and has grown more than 20x in the past 2 years. Zentist’s average collection time cycle is less than 12 days when the industry average is more than 22-24 days.
