Below is our recent interview with Jeff Whitaker, Vice President of Production at Excelero:

Q: Could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to your company?

A: Excelero provides solutions for the most demanding public and private cloud workloads. Our software brings a new level of storage capabilities to public clouds, paving a smooth transition path for such IO-intensive workloads from on-premises to public clouds and supporting digital transformation.

Our flagship product, NVMesh®, transforms NVMe drives into enterprise-grade protected storage that supports any local or distributed file system. It’s been proven in on-premise deployments for five years, and since mid 2021 we offer a version for the public cloud.

Q: Any highlights on your recent announcement?

A: Since we launched NVMesh on Azure in mid-2021, we committed to expanding our cloud portfolio. This week we debuted the NVMesh Cloud Management Portal for fast and easy deployment and operation of NVMesh storage software in the cloud. A web-based management tool, the NVMesh cloud portal streamlines deployment of NVMesh storage for core business applications and allows IT teams to manage them from a readily
accessible interface.

The NVMesh Cloud Management Platform evolved from Excelero’s 2021 experiences in helping major organizations migrate their demanding workloads from on-premises to the cloud. These workloads are almost exclusively run on dedicated, multi-million dollar on-premises resources. When the underlying infrastructure is too slow, delivery of results can be tens of hours, and storage is often the main bottleneck.

By delivering the storage performance they need in the cloud, NVMesh offers institutions a path for offloading costly resources that for years have bloated budgets. IT administrators that wish to move applications to the cloud now have an at-a-glance summary of deployment details, cluster properties, and volumes – for easy review and completion with Click-to-Deploy simplicity.

Q: Can you give us more insights into your offering?

A: Excelero NVMesh makes it possible for analytics, high-performance computing, artificial intelligence and database applications to achieve unheard-of performance and efficiency. NVMesh is a low-latency distributed block storage solution and an advanced cloud data platform that gives web-scale applications access to hot data in any type of cloud, public or private. Elasticity ensures data is served hot in small setups, for web-scalers and anything in between, with linear costs. Customers enjoy ultra-low latency with 20 times faster data processing, high-performance throughput of hundreds of gigabytes per second and millions of IOs per second.

As a 100% software-based solution, NVMesh is the only container-native storage solution for IO-intensive workloads for Kubernetes. These capabilities make NVMesh an optimal storage solution that drastically reduces storage cost of ownership while boosting scalability and performance.

Q: What can we expect from your company in next 6 months? What are your plans?

A: We’ll continue to expand our cloud portfolio. We’ll also be expanding support for container-native storage with Kubernetes solutions, and detailing some very exciting customer use cases in financial services, retail and travel & entertainment.

Q: What is the best thing about your company that people might not know about?

A: Excelero is a hotbed of creativity and innovation. People think of enterprise computing as staid and boring sector, when in fact the out of the box thinking here is amazing. Stepping into the public cloud, Excelero has opened the door for an all new view of what customers can deploy. No longer is the public cloud flexibility a limitation to its performance. The nature of the NVMesh architecture natively allows customers to protect their application environments from multiple failures from machines to entire data centers going offline. With all the news of cloud availability zone outages in late 2021, this is ever more critical for continuous business operations.

In addition, Excelero has an impressive depth of technical talent. With expertise that spans storage, networking and compute markets, the engineering team has dozens of patents awarded or pending. The fundamental enterprise computing problems they have solved with their innovations sets us apart.
