Q: For those who have never heard of it, how would you describe JupiterOne?
A: Assets are more than just endpoints and servers. Assets today include everything from workloads, APIs, VMs, instances, and apps, to code, code commits, endpoints, datastores, and everything under the sun. JupiterOne takes all of your cyber assets and collects then, normalizes them into a one of a kind directed graph model, and uses this to help enterprises answer any security or infrastructure related question they may have. You can think of it as “Google” for your security and compliance infrastructure.

Q: You’ve recently raised your new funding round; can you tell us something more?
A: We were incubated inside of a healthcare company. Our founder, Erkang Zheng, was the CISO of a company called LifeOmic and was tasked with the security of that infrastructure. He was not impressed with any available tools that claimed to help him understand his assets and infrastructure. There was no real way to provide security and compliance over your entire modern infrastructure and he didn’t want to buy a half a dozen individual tools. This was how JupiterOne was born, out of a real need in a real company.

We plan to work with our marquee customer set to continue to expand our features to deliver the premier cyber asset management, security, and governance platform we can. In the long run we will be the “Google” for your security and infrastructure assets.
