Q: Christopher, what is ARES Blockchain?
A: ARES Blockchain GmbH is a 100%-self-funded, German based tech company building hardware and software solutions for companies and individuals worldwide.
We focus on a wide range of enablement projects like easy-to-use blockchain tools with real-world impact and not only financial use cases. Furthermore, we’re developing an one of a kind carrier mainboard for up to 28 compute modules like Nvidia Jetson or Raspberry CM4.
Such solutions allow smarter and more sustainable use of compute power without the need of huge investments.
Q: Any highlights on your recent announcement?
A: The ARMedONE is our answer for the big question “how to keep up with growing demands of compute power and on the same time less and less space for this kind of hardware?”! Our Carrier-Mainboard, ARMedONE, allows the use of up to 28 Compute Modules as a cluster or 28 independent servers. Doing this the ARMedONE stays in the size specification of the EATX standard. So it can be put in any server or pc case you have laying around!
Since sustainablity is a big thing to our hearts the Mainboard is module agnostic: YOU decide what Modules you want to use! New modules appear on the market in the future? No problem, we got you covered! Just take an old module out and put the new one in. It’s that simple! And you don’t have to power down any other module! All 28 Slots of the ARMedONE are hotswappable to make changing as smooth and easy as possible.
Q: Can you give us more insights into your offering?
A: We looked for an carrierboard solution for quite a long time, since we heavily use small compute modules in our companies for quite a long time. But there is no solution to use plenty of modules on small form factor. Since we believe that modularity is the key to success for the future we decided: Lets do it ourself!
The Prototypes are done and work like a charm. Our next step will be the start of the ARMedONE Kickstarter campaign to bring it to the people.

Q: What can we expect from your company in next 6 months? What are your plans?
A: We work hard on enhancing the ARMedONE and creating software to enable “normal”/no tech-users to work with this board. Furthermore we’re planning production ramp up to pump out the ARMedONE as fast as possible.
But we’ll not stop there! The ARMedONE is just the beginning. We dream of our own Compute Module. High power, reasonable pricing.
Q: What is the best thing about your company that people might not know about?
A: We think outside the box and “scratch our own itches”. What does that mean? Simple: We do not only build stuff but are our own best, and most critic, customer, too! Everything we build is used in one of our other companies. This ensures that the products WORK and LAST.
