Q: Could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to your company?
A: Founded in Belfast, Northern Ireland, B-Secur is a heart health ECG monitoring technology company with a mission to revolutionize the way people experience technology in the connected world every day, by using their unique heartbeat. For the first seven years, the company was immersed in deep scientific research to determine the feasibility of ECG, and since 2014, we have focused on commercialization of the application of ECG algorithms for a wide range of uses.
This has culminated in B-Secur developing next-gen HeartKey® technology — a suite of powerful ECG algorithms that combine user identification, health and wellness to generate accurate data encrypted through the user’s unique heartbeat to tell you who you are and how you are.
Our now FDA-cleared technology is designed to enable scalability of medical grade ECG across consumer and IoT devices in home and healthcare/clinical environments, with the ability to run embedded on the device, on the application layer and via the cloud.
Q: Any highlights on your recent announcement?
A: B-Secur’s “ECG Everywhere” Development Kit is the world’s first ECG hardware and software kit which provides a full solution stack for smaller consumer wearable device makers to accelerate the development of ECG devices as market demand for ECG monitoring increases.
ECG development can be complicated, requiring specific capability that if done in-house costs a large amount of both time and money. B-Secur’s ECG Development Kit is created to help companies build and launch devices more quickly and cost-efficiently. The ECG Development Kit will allow easy access for designers to incorporate B-Secur’s FDA-cleared HeartKey® ECG monitoring technology into devices, as consumer health monitoring gathers increasing momentum post-COVID.
The kit includes an electrode guide, electrode development test jig, hardware design guide, HeartKey® software library of algorithms (in user ID, wellness and health), software guide and HeartKey® signal analysis app.

Q: Can you give us more insights into your offering?
A: The Development Kit has been designed specifically for B-Secur’s customers and partners, to help them accelerate their time-to-market, especially for consumer wearable devices.
Not only does the kit teach users how to design and test electrodes, but it also comes with an electrode development test jig to allow robust and repeatable assessment of the electro design, controlling many of the variables that can affect the analysis and ensuring results are truly reflective of the performance.
Through the pre-fitted hardware, users can design electrodes and hardware in parallel, accelerating the product development schedule. The kit is built by B-Secur’s global specialists, with a focus on dry electrode systems and software engineering, which comprises of several key elements that empower in-house design teams to make the best decisions and to launch with confidence.
B-Secur are experts in the end-to-end signal chain and this kit, which features a suite of tools and guides, can help fast-track device makers’ ECG development in the most cost-effective and time-effective manner.
Q: What can we expect from your company in next 6 months? What are your plans?
A: We plan to further develop our products HeartKey and HeartKeyAI and accelerate our consumer activity in the US. As the pressure on healthcare infrastructures around the world shows no sign of relenting since the onset of the Covid pandemic, we will also increasingly be targeting the managed care and remote patient monitoring industry with our FDA-cleared medical grade algorithms.
This is a busy time for B-Secur and our customers as the consumer health agenda continues to gather momentum. We have some exciting new products in the pipeline for 2022 so watch this space!
