For close to 40 years, Evans Consoles has served the control center industry. Evans has manufacturing and design facilities in the US, Canada, the Netherlands and China. They have offices and dealers around the world serving diverse and unique customers, including some of the most high tech and high security control rooms in the world.
Below is our interview with Ken Wilson, Director of Marketing at Evans Consoles:
Q: Evans recently announced an award of significant multi-year contract renewal with FAA; could you tell us something more?
A: The FAA contract is significant for Evans. The Air Traffic Control (ATC) and Terminal Radar Approach Control (TRACON) environments are some of the most demanding and complex control room settings in the world. Evans has extensive experience dealing with this industry, and the FAA contract ensures that each location receives a customized solution reflective of their unique requirements.
Q: Can you give us more insights into your products?
A: Our suite of consoles is unparalleled in the control room industry when it comes to innovative design, ergonomic considerations and overall quality and durability. While we have a number of different console products, each project is customized to accommodate the unique and specific needs of the ATC tower or TRACON. We also provide a full complement of accessories and peripherals. Beyond products, we also provide a number of services – due to the complexity of these environments. Evans provides full turnkey consulting solutions that help our customers with planning, project management, design, construction installation and maintenance.
Q: What makes Evans Consoles a good choice?
A: In a word, experience. Evans has installed over 10,000 control rooms over its 4 decades. Each project is unique, so we have taken our learnings from each and every project to improve our products and services. Our commitment to innovation and customer services in unrelenting; we are always pressing the envelope to ensure our offering is not only meeting, but exceeding the needs of the industry. A recent example of this is our introduction of Virtual Reality in the ATC arena. VR is not just for gaming; it helps ATC and TRACON leaders to fully understand the design of their new space.
Q: What are your plans for next six months?
A: Evans continues to see great success in the ATC and TRACON industry, as well as the 14 others we serve. Our ATC sector manager, Dave Rivers, will have a busy autumn attending industry tradeshows, as well as visiting current and future clients. Overall, Evans will continue to respond to the needs of the clients we serve with our suite of control room solutions.
