Below is our recent interview with Anthony Zelen, Director at Tutors on Demand:

Q: Could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to your company?

A: Tutors On Demand is a forward thinking company in the EdTech sector. We connect student learners who are seeking additional educational support with highly qualified tutors. The platform provides an effective, flexible, and affordable solution that we’ve developed to address concerns around responsiveness and safety. We’re committed to helping educators deliver courses online in a multitude of subjects, including math, sciences and languages in a secure, safe, and efficient environment.

Q: Any highlights on your recent announcement?

A: With the launch of Tutors On Demand, we’re especially excited about a couple of innovations we’ve developed differently from other EdTech companies to provide a truly enhanced experience for student learners.

First, we’ve recently announced EDSY, our TelEdTech product, a robust, user-friendly virtual tutoring platform to support education and instruction with a purpose-built digital learning environment. As a website-specific platform, EDSY doesn’t require users to download an app, and they can access it directly on their laptop or desktop. With the ability to place students into queues for access to class sessions, EDSY gives instructors the freedom to work with multiple students at the same time. And it’s easy. They can just start a session, sign in, and send their uniquely generated links to students. The students click their link and class begins. The great thing is that the link can be “private labeled” by the account holder providing a truly personalized learning space for the educator whether they’re teaching music lessons, math, or any other educational competency.

Along with EDSY, we’re thrilled to announce the initial conceptual build-out of the world’s first English-as-a-second-language (ESL) school hosted in the metaverse. The future of the internet (and the future of learning) lies in AR and VR technology. As a technology company with a strong focus on education, we’re constantly working toward that future – to pioneer the way for others. To that end, we’ve announced initial funding to help finance operations and expansion for Tutors On Demand and all of our endeavors to empower students and tutors in all their endeavors.

Q: Can you give us more insights into your offering?

A: We built EDSY in-house, here at Tutors On Demand – so it doesn’t rely on any outside technology. And, because it’s browser-based, it can be used on public computers where students may not have permissions to download an app. We’ve focused specifically on making our platform as easy to use, stable, safe, and secure as possible – with the most robust technology in the EdTech space. Our goal is always to break down barriers and enable students and tutors. EDSY empowers us to do just that.

Q: What can we expect from your company in next 6 months?

A: Over the next six months and beyond, Tutors On Demand will be focused on the North American and global tutoring market. We want to help as many learners and educators as possible, around the world, to improve their learning experiences in a safe, user-friendly virtual environment. To that end, we are currently seeking new partners and opportunities to continue our expansion into the virtual tutoring space, at home and internationally.

Q: What are your plans?

A: With the launch of Tutors On Demand under the umbrella of Prospect Park Capital, we have announced a change of name and business. With the realization that our strengths lie in the development of new technologies, Prospect Park will be renamed to Ignite Communications Group Inc., and will serve as a technology issuer, rather than an investment issuer. Along with this announcement, we’ve also announced new financing. We plan to use this round of financing – and funds from future rounds – toward operations, marketing, and commercialization efforts for Tutors On Demand.

Q: What is the best thing about your company that people might not know about?

A: We provide an end-to-end solution for educators and learners – that doesn’t require any downloads or external applications. Other online tutoring platforms rely on Zoom, Skype, Whatsapp, and other third-party teleconferencing technologies. Because we developed EDSY in-house at Tutors On Demand, we’ve skipped a lot of the challenges, barriers, and security risks that come with dependency on these platforms. With EDSY, we help students and tutors save time and effort with a more efficient system.

And, thanks to our forward-looking approach to EdTech, we’re excited to be working on opening the first ESL school in the metaverse. Through this innovation, we see a massive global opportunity to expand and offer our EdTech service to people all over the world.
