Below is our recent interview with Laurent Gil, Co-founder and CPO at CAST:

Q: For those who have never heard of it, how would you describe CAST?

A: We are breaking the walls cloud providers built with an evil lock-in: developers can now connect Azure, Google Cloud, and AWS and run their cloud resources on multiple clouds at the same time to benefit from the best performance and cost combination. This builds resilience and helps to prevent downtime, like what we have just seen happening before Thanksgiving when the AWS servers went out taking down a portion of the US Internet.

Q: Can you describe a typical use case for your solution?

A: It’s impossible to avoid system faults altogether, but just because a component fails it doesn’t mean that it should cause you downtime. CAST AI is designed to make workloads highly resilient to failure, even if the entire cloud service goes down. By deploying one logical cluster across multiple clouds or cloud regions, we fortify your cluster deployment and protect it from faults if that would cause availability and performance issues.

Q: Can you tell us something about your pricing?

A: At the moment with our Early bird offer anyone can try CAST AI for free up to 20 CPUs. The CAST AI pricing model is based on your infrastructure size and CPUs. It starts from $200/month.

Q: You’ve recently raised $7,700,000 in Seed funding; can you tell us something more?

A: We are planning to use this investment for product development, as well as expanding our sales and marketing operations.

Q: What are your plans for the future? Do you have any new features in the pipeline?

A: Our goal is to build an easy-to-use multi-cloud management platform and free developers around the world from time-consuming work, so that they have more time to focus on what really matters: Building products and creating innovations.
