Below is our recent interview with Dawn Wellott, CEO at SmartMomGig.com:

Q: Dawn, what is SmartMomGig.com?

A: SmartMomGig.com is a catalyst in the freelance and remote worker solution, connecting entrepreneurs and business owners with our vetted, US-based remote freelance workers, to help scale-up their businesses, free up some of their time, and retain more of their revenue in their pocket. This connection helps keep skilled stay-at-home moms and professional women in the workforce, providing and caring for themselves and their families, while still contributing on a professional level. This, in turn, benefits local economies, which contributes to uplifting our National economy.

The platform provides a safe, secure place for the job posters and workers to communicate with each other, upload and download necessary work product, and complete the payment process, efficiently and affordably, all without needing to compromise their personal information.

Q: Any highlights on your recent announcement?

A: Our CEO, Dawn Wellott, was recently recognized as one of Women Impact Tech’s 2023 Women of Impact. This inaugural list honors the standout women who are going above and beyond, making strides to promote Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI) and gender equity in the tech space and leading the charge for the next generation of women to thrive.

Women Impact Tech sought out the most noteworthy women who have significantly influenced an individual or the technical space as a whole, paving the way for other women in the field. Per Women Impact Tech’s award description, “They are the women to watch over the next year, as leading examples of how women thrive in an industry traditionally dominated by men.” The Top 50 Women of Impact were chosen by a distinguished panel of judges – selected for their experience and integrity – from various organizations who’ve worked independently to evaluate each nominee.

Dawn’s continuous efforts to uplift women, in the tech space and overall, has a direct impact on so many individual lives and each of their communities. She continues to speak at events and conferences, spreading the word that women have not disappeared from the workforce, they just need to be met where they are, to utilize their skills and benefit from their contributions to the workforce.

Q: Can you give us more insights into your offering?

A: We are the solution, for so many – from individual entrepreneurs who have realized they can’t do everything themselves, to large companies who need to fill work gaps, or increase their DEI, and many more, in between. We help them get done what they need to get done, day-to-day, gig-by-gig.

You name it, we’ve got freelancers who can help you get it done: Cold/Warm Sales or Follow-Up Calls, Social Media Posting & Management, Scheduling/Calendaring, Bookkeeping, Content Creation, Website Design, UI/UX, Customer Service, Marketing, and over 500 additional skills.

Q: What can we expect from your company in the next 6 months? What are your plans?

A: January is going to be a blow-out surge of new business with multiple Master Service Agreements with DEI aware companies. You will see a push for high-level tech jobs as well as our base skill set job offerings. Also look for media blasts into new markets with multiple location, geographic, and industry focuses, as well as the launch of significant strategic partnerships in supporting women working in rural areas. We look forward to making additional announcements regarding “secret sauce” in the works.

Q: What is the best thing about your company that people might not know about?

A: That we exist. Every time we tell someone about us, whether they are a business owner or a worker, they say, “This is exactly what we need! Where have you been?!” Our reply is, “Waiting for the world to catch up to the new workforce.”
