Below is our recent interview with Michelle Dintner, Chief Strategy Officer at Splash:

Q: Could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to your company?

A: Splash is a revolutionary company that has developed the world’s most advanced AI music capabilities and consumer experiences. Our intuitive AI music tools allow anyone to create unique songs and integrate them into our virtual music experiences on the most popular gaming platforms.

Our journey began in 2017 when we started training software to play basic instruments and compose, master, and ultimately sing and rap. Since then, we have launched our first gamified music experience on Roblox, which has evolved into the world’s largest live, ‘always-on’ music festival, where anyone can perform and be a star.

The Splash Music Festival is where players create, perform, discover, and share music while socializing in a fun, real-time, active gamified experience on the most popular gaming platforms. Splash opens up a new immersive and engaging live music experience for anyone to be able to express themselves on stage in front of real audiences.

Our latest project, BeatBot.fm, is our first text-to-song experiment that utilizes our AI rappers. Users can type in a text prompt about any subject and a genre, and BeatBot will create a short song. We aim to understand how users want to use tools like BeatBot and what level of control they want in crafting their songs.

Our goal is to integrate BeatBot’s text-to-song capabilities into our live music performance experiences within the Splash Music Festival.

Q: Any highlights on your recent announcement?

A: New AI music tools like BeatBot are lowering the barriers of music creation – anyone can create a song with their imagination, taste and a pinch of human ingenuity.

Splash is a platform where a new generation of AI music artists are emerging. Our integrated AI music tools in social gamified experiences allow these artists to create and perform music in front of real audiences.

Q: Can you give us more insights into your offering?

A: BeatBot is completely free to use. Songs created on BeatBot can be downloaded, shared, and used for both non-commercial and commercial purposes on a royalty-free basis, as outlined in its Terms of Use.

Q: What can we expect from your company in next 6 months? What are your plans?

A: The next iteration of BeatBot will be the focus of our efforts as we strive to push the boundaries of what is technically possible. We are working hard to improve the quality, sophistication and variety of voices available, the ability to sing, and the underlying music, giving users greater creative freedom and limitless possibilities.

In addition to BeatBot, we will be porting similar functionalities into our live experiences on Unreal Engine (Steam), mobile devices, and possibly Roblox (if they decide to open up API access to third-party developers).

Q: What is the best thing about your company that people might not know about?

A: In the current AI landscape, there are R&D AI companies and companies focussed on building applications on top of the models produced by R&D companies.

Splash is uniquely positioned as we have both applied R&D and product-building capabilities in-house. An important part of our defensibility is our own proprietary datasets that Splash 100% owns in order to train our AI models. Our internal R&D team works closely with our product teams to bring the latest advancements in AI music technology into meaningful products that anyone can use, love and enjoy.
