Below is our recent interview with Gilles Bertaux, from Livestorm:

Gilles Bertaux is co-founder and CEO of Livestorm, the all-in-one platform for video communication.

As a first-time entrepreneur, Gilles co-founded Livestorm in 2016 along with Robin Lambert, Tom Forlini and Vincent Garreau. In 2019, Gilles raised $5.1M in series A to strengthen Livestorm’s presence in the US and introduce new video use cases.

Now 3,000+ companies trust Livestorm to organize their meetings, webinars or online events. Livestorm has been recognized by G2 as a Leader 2020 in the categories “webinar” and “web conferencing”.

Q: Could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to Livestorm?

A: Livestorm was founded in 2016 and is the all-in-one platform that makes it easy for companies to build powerful video communication strategies. Our browser-based platform lets teams organize their online events in one place, from mobile or desktop.

With our end-to-end management platform, our customers can organize their events from promotion through post-event ROI analysis.

Q: What are some of the real-world results enterprises can expect with your solution?

A: Thanks to an in-browser experience and high-performing built-in emailing tools, Livestorm’s users can expect a high attendance rate (46 % average attendance rate and up to 63 % in the pharmaceutical industry), while other softwares often announce an average of 30 %.

Customers who use our scheduled or on-demand online events can also scale their video communication rather than spending time on 1:1 product demos or online training. Livestorm is for some a very important brick within their qualification or training funnel for example. Some have reached a total of 10k+ contacts generated in the past month only.

The same applies to universities that need to expand their reach beyond their walls or keep their classes going during the pandemic: some universities host more than a hundred online events per month on Livestorms.

Q: Who would be your ideal user and why?

A: Our ideal customer is feeling the pain of organizing recurrent and complex online events to either attract, engage or educate their audience. They belong to marketing, sales, customer success, or HR teams and are looking for an easy way to streamline the organization of their online event.

Livestorm can provide a solution to those challenges with our all-in-one video communication platform.

Q: You’ve recently raised $30,000,000 in Series B funding; can you tell us something more?

A: We’re really excited for the times coming ahead and we plan on hiring aggressively both in Europe and the U.S for departments such as Product, Engineering, Marketing, Growth, Sales and Customer Success.

We want to consolidate our market position as a global company and keep expanding in dynamic markets such as the United States or western EU. To do so, we will invest massively in our brand awareness and sales development.

Finally, from a product perspective, we want to double down on integrations and up-market features to extend our reach to Enterprise customers.

While our headquarters is based in Paris, Livestorm is a remote-first company and we are looking for the best talent, no matter where they live. You can see all open positions here.

Q: What is next on the roadmap for Livestorm?

A: We will use this funding to rapidly increase our marketing presence and scale our go to market strategies toward mid-market and enterprise in the U.S. Over the next year, we also want to build a Slack-like marketplace of plugins for our platform, an ecosystem where developers will be able to easily build on top of Livestorm.
