Topline Pro, a startup providing technology solutions for home service businesses, has raised $12 million in a Series A funding round. The round was led by Forerunner Ventures and included participation from Bonfire Ventures, TMV, and BBG Ventures. The new funding will be used to double the company’s employee base, expand its generative AI capabilities, and continue product development.

Topline Pro’s Services and Unique Features

Founded by Nick Ornitz and Shannon Kay, Topline Pro offers a platform that helps small home service businesses such as general contractors and landscapers manage their operations and scale their businesses. The platform uses generative AI to build an online presence for these businesses through websites, social media, and advertisements. It also enables businesses to gain trust by showcasing their experience through reviews and photos, offer online scheduling and payment options, and maintain long-term contact with customers.

The Growth of Home Services Category

The home services category has seen significant growth in recent years, with an 18% increase in 2021 and another 10% in 2022. This growth is largely due to homeowners spending more time at home during the pandemic, leading to an increased demand for home service businesses. However, with rising raw material prices and a slowing housing market, many home service business owners are focusing on becoming more efficient to maintain their margins.

Topline Pro’s Growth and Future Plans

In 2022, Topline Pro raised $5 million and generated over $25 million in job requests across more than 1,000 monthly subscriber businesses in nearly all 50 states. A year later, the company has generated over $180 million in business across thousands of businesses in nearly all 50 states. It has also continued double-digit monthly revenue growth and nearly doubled its employee base in the last year.

The company has expanded its product offerings, including a social media hub for automated posts and ads, AI-generated Google Ads, and an AI-enabled “Super Assistant” for digitizing customer interactions with businesses.

With the new funding, Topline Pro plans to double its number of employees again by the end of 2023, particularly in the areas of engineering, product, customer success, marketing, and sales. The company also aims to expand its generative AI capabilities and continue product development.

Topline Pro’s focus on helping home service businesses succeed by democratizing the key building blocks of running a business positions it well to make a significant impact in the industry. As the company continues to grow and innovate, it is poised to play a crucial role in supporting the success of home service businesses.
