KaiOS Technologies, Inc, the leading mobile operating system for smart feature phones, with the aim to expand access to financial and digital services among communities and individuals in Africa by leveraging the aggregation of payment methods and connecting multiple payment networks through affordable devices.

It has also teamed up with EKLECTIC, a value-added services aggregator, to enhance access to digital services and unlock new opportunities for individuals and businesses across African markets.

Q: Can you give us more insights into your offering?

A: We offer:

  • A user-friendly platform enabling easy and secure online cross-border payments.
  • An online payment gateway that empowers any website or online business to accept payments remotely through a variety of payment methods.
  • E-commerce plugins that enable businesses to activate online payments on their websites in as little as 10 minutes, compared to the standard process which typically takes around 3 months.
  • A mobile app for smartphones and feature phones that is available in whitelabel.

Q: What can we expect from your company in the next 6 months? What are your plans?

A: Konnect’s plans for the next 6 months is to deploy a ‘Social Wallet’ for the Ivorian Poste and in partnership with KaiOS and Eklectic. On top of receiving and transferring money from and to all wallets of the country (including other financial networks) this wallet will be a store-of-value for the unbanked population, allowing them to receive welfare or pension digitally.
