Below is our recent interview with Vicky Wang, the Founder and CEO at Wukong Education:

Q: Could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to your company?

A: “WuKong Education” was founded in Auckland, New Zealand in 2016, with the focus of providing high-quality online education solutions for young people aged 3-18 from all over the world. The “WuKong Education Group” brand also owns the well-known educational technological brands “WuKong Chinese” and “WuKong Math”.

Adhering to the principle of “Bring the beauty of Chinese culture and characters to young people all over the world”, “Wukong Chinese” is dedicated to utilizing scientific technologies to provide inspiring and interesting online Chinese courses to students from 118 countries and regions worldwide including America, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and so forth.

Launched in 2021, “Wukong Math” focuses on thecomprehensive improvement of students’ innovative mathematical thinking.

Wukong Education has a long-standing reputation among parents for the high quality of its teaching.

Its brand name originates from “Sun Wukong” in “The Journey to the West (Italic)”, one of the four classic novels in ancient Chinese literature. As the embodiment of kindness, justice, bravery and wisdom, Sun Wukong is a “super hero” in the eastern world, the brand’s value of cultivating positive personalities in children.

Q: Any highlights on your recent announcement?

A: Recently, WuKong launched the WuKong Class App and upgraded our Pre-K Chinese program.

In terms of the APP launch, with months’ efforts of our R&D team, WuKong Class App was launched as part of our digital learning infrastructure upgrading strategy to further improve our student-oriented learning and teaching experience.

The App has convenient functions such as learning management, interactive homework, attendance record and so on. Our interactive homework combines the knowledge learned by students in class with our IP character WuKong, creating a vivid and immersive after-school homework interactive page based on AI interaction, voice recognition and other technologies, so that students can realize personalized learning and after-school review more effectively.

We are happy to receive positive user feedback for the App, which proves once again that our investment in educational technology can really improve the learning experience of students, the participation of parents as well as the efficiency of teachers.

The upgrading of Pre-K Chinese program demonstrates WuKong Education’s teaching and researching ability. Following the IB 6-theme based framework and the YCT (Youth Chinese Test) 1-2 assessment requirements, the upgraded Pre-K Chinese program is divided into K1 and K2 levels. The new program adopts the effective situational language teaching methodology to put the young learners in familiar contexts to build up their Chinese language fundamentals from letters, words to sentences. Throughout the learning process, children are encouraged to explore more about themselves, their whereabouts and the bigger world. In addition to language learning outcomes, the program is also designed to cultivate core competencies such as communication, culture competence and critical thinking. As a new milestone for the brand and the global Chinese learning community, this upgrade extends the online Chinese learning to 3 years old, allowing this young age group to learn Chinese in their golden periods for language learning and development.

Q: Can you give us more insights into your offering?

A: We have, over the years, been adhering to the exploration and practice of global K12 online education. We hope to gradually build a K12 education ecosystem covering all ages through our diversified curriculum framework and international strategic layout, so as to meet the learning needs of all students around the world.

Q: What can we expect from your company in next 6 months? What are your plans?

A: Firstly, from the market perspective, we hope to maintain rapid growth.

Secondly, we hope to further strengthen our advantages in our product development and form competition barriers in the whole industry.

Thirdly, we hope to fully utilize data to analyze and enhance students’ learning abilities in their whole learning journey.

Q: What is the best thing about your company that people might not know about?

A: The original intention of WuKong Education is to “Educate with Love”. A large part of our employees are parents themselves, and their children are also learning with WuKong. At the same time, we have been committed to encouraging more women to join in the education industry. A large part of WuKong Education’s global employees are women. We believe that female educators can devote their natural maternal love to the students and integrate this spirit into all aspects of their work. They are tough and tolerant and are very suitable for education.
