Below is our recent interview with Melissa McGaughey, Director of Marketing at Webbula:
Q: Melissa, can you tell us something more about the company and it’s history?
A: Webbula started as an ESP and hygiene company. In our work, we discovered a need for improved data quality. Webbula met the demand and evolved into a data provider.
Since then, we’ve become the undisputed industry leader in data quality technology. Our Email Hygiene, Data Enhancement, and Audience Targeting services mitigate delivery threats, enrich email campaigns’ data lists, and create actionable audiences for online ad serving.
Webbula has a proven track record of helping our customers navigate hazardous data quality obstacles and increase their return on investment.
Our passion remains what it has been since day one, to help our customers market confidently. Webbula pioneered and perfected multi-method email hygiene, the ability to detect spam traps, invalids, fraudulent emails and much more – all in pursuit of truth in data.
Q: Any highlights on your recent announcement?
A: We are thrilled to welcome Jack Wrigley, email expert, industry veteran, and thought leader, to the team as the Vice President of Partner Development. Jack’s expertise extends far beyond email and into retail and brand relationships, omnichannel retail, business strategy, corporate development, and more. This knowledge, partnered with his years of experience, will offer Webbula a springboard into future growth.
Webbula has also been recognized by Neutronian in its NQI Transparency Ratings. Webbula ranked 15 out 150 data providers, above names like Google and Facebook.
“Ratings are based on the public transparency of data providers who commonly sell audience segments, data feeds or data analytics solutions to marketers. The ratings are generated based on a review of the publicly available data about each data provider across Neutronian’s five core categories – Consent & Compliance, Sourcing Transparency, Dataset Characteristics, Methodology & Processing and Performance. These ratings provide marketers with a summary view of potential high or low data quality indicators that may guide their data investment decisions before actually spending to test out the data.” – Neutronian
Q: Can you give us more insights into your offering?
A: Email Hygiene
Email verification by itself doesn’t identify harmful email addresses that cause blocklisting, damage to your sender reputation and the brand. Even if you have pristine email acquisition practices that include double opt-in and ReCaptcha, addresses like disposable domains and spam traps could still be hiding in your list.
Email Hygiene, Webbula’s email cleansing tool, rapidly identifies active, hidden, and malicious email threats that negatively impact campaign results.
Data Enhancement empowers marketers to enrich first-party customer and prospect data with third-party data. Fill data gaps, including up-to-date email addresses, postal addresses, phone numbers, age, gender, demographics, and more.
Webbula data is 100% self-reported, individually-linked, and comes from over 100 trusted sources while going through our hygiene process regularly to ensure accuracy.
Our Data Enhancement Service appends:
- Active PII Data
- Credit Rating
- Reverse Email Appends
Webbula’s Audience Data helps marketers deliver the right message to the right audience at the right time, whether it’s through streaming ad services, mobile, retargeting and display ads, OTT, or something else. Webbula audiences are based on self-reported, cross-channel behaviors and signals, not modeled assumptions.
Q: What can we expect from your company in next 6 months? What are your plans?
A: In the next six months, we’re focused on expanding our partnerships and product integrations, increasing our reach, and continuing to deliver success to our customers.
We understand that remarkable marketing starts with accurate data. Because of that, we’re continuing our work with partners like Truthset and Neutronian to help us continue to advance our data accuracy and transparency. We’re also dedicated to expanding our data sources and segments this year, so we can grow our custom/niche audience segments available to our customers.
Q: What is the best thing about your company that people might not know about?
A: We do everything we can to foster a positive company culture of learning, collaboration, and camaraderie. Our team is made up of thinkers, go-getters, and leaders of impeccable character.
Webbula is driving business to the next level and is on the lookout for folks with the right talent to help us reach our goals!
