Q: Could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to VersusGame?
A: VersusGame is the leading app-based prediction game where players get paid for being right.
VersusGame rewards its players for their knowledge of mainstream popular culture – from award show predictions, spoilers of your favorite reality TV show, and major sporting events. Players are able to create games as hosts and participate in competitions against each other, winning cash prizes along the way. This platform is the first of its kind to bring power to the masses and allow consumers to get rewarded for their knowledge. The game is built on microtransactions rather than other gaming platforms that involve larger sums of money. We currently have over 6 million users playing and have given away over $10.5 million in cash prizes.
Q: You’ve recently completed a $4 million Series Seed round of financing; can you tell us something more?
A: We recently closed this $4 million Series Seed round led by Raised In Space, the joint venture between Scooter Braun’s Ithaca Holdings and Ripple’s Xpring initiative, with Raised In Space partners Shara Senderoff and Zach Katz supporting the investment with hands-on guidance.
I like to say we have the Illuminati of investors. We have also been super grateful to have other notable investors from previous rounds, such as Noah Beck, Blake Gray, Plus8 Equity Partners, Jam Fund (Justin Marteen), the Tinder founders, Craig Donato from Roblox, Tapjoy (Rizwan Virk), Ha Nguyen from Spero Ventures, TIE Group, Michael Zyda, Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss and KLI Capital. Each has helped make the game what it is today.
Q: What can we expect from VersusGame in the next 6 months? What are your plans?
A: VersusGame has a lot up our sleeves. We are creating major moments for our users surrounding some of the most anticipated moments in pop culture. The Super Bowl is on our radar, the Oscars, Grammys… you name it and we have a game for it.
Q: What’s the best thing about VersusGame that people might not know about?
A: This game isn’t like any other game on the market. Not only can you win money by predicting the future correctly, but it’s actually one of the first ways users can monetize their social media platform. VersusGame offers players another stream of revenue, the ability to build their social presence and elevate their gaming experience in a more impactful and enjoyable way.
