Below is our recent interview with Samantha Reynolds, from consulting, and coaching firm The Collaborative:

Q: Could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to your company?

A: The Collaborative is a learning development, consulting, and coaching firm primarily focusing on the financial services industry. While the firm focuses on helping advisors, retirement providers, asset management firms, custodians, and aggregators grow their businesses, our sweet spot is understanding and incorporating the human factor into all we do. We know people – how they think, feel, and learn- and we can help our clients bring about the changes needed to get to the next level of excellence in their businesses.

Q: Any highlights on your recent announcement?

A: We are pleased to have received the award for the second year in a row. It is exciting because, more often than not, we provide training. Participants tell us no matter how many years they’ve had in the business or how many other trainings they have attended, ours is enjoyable, action-oriented, and unique. Participants might say they “rolled their eyes” when their firm offered them training. Yet, by the time they finish a learning opportunity with us, they are enthused, engaged, and enjoying the experience. To be recognized by a prestigious organization like Wealthbriefing and the WealthTech awards is such an honor for us.

Q: Can you give us more insights into your offering?

A: We offer a multi-media experience to participants – online tools, in-person (sometimes virtual) training, breakouts and interactivity, partner discussions, and self-guided materials. Participants stay engaged throughout the learning experience. We don’t believe in “stand and deliver.” We believe the best learning comes from listening, experiencing, and, most importantly, applying the ideas to the real world. Firms have asked us outside of our industry to provide our materials, and in every case, the information has been applicable and valuable. This is because we put human dynamics – how people learn, understand, and change – at the center. We customize to every environment so we deliver something relevant to the audience. We know there is no one-size-fits-all solution.

Q: What can we expect from your company in the next 6 months? What are your plans?

A: We want to grow and expand our offering outside the financial services industry. Those in other industries have repeatedly asked us to help them with their needs. We are also implementing new self-directed programs – The SHIFT Model for Managers is one we will release soon. We will be incorporating a lot more about Emotional Intelligence and how to understand oneself to become a more effective team player or leader.

Q: What is the best thing about your company that people might not know about?

A: We love our clients! We act in partnership with them and care deeply about the results. We want every client to feel like we are one of them. It is never about the accolades for us; it is about the results and having clients feel we collaborated with them to reach those results.
