Below is our recent interview with Megan Birch, Marketing Manager at Tavour:
Q: Could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to Tavour?
A: Tavour is an app to discover and enjoy craft beers from around the world. We connect consumers directly with passionate brewers who care about quality and reaching their fans. The geographical divide that prevents you from walking directly into any brewpub is obliterated and you are transported to the barstool from the comfort of your own home.
Q: How did you get the idea for Tavour?
A: The idea came from noticing the number of people trading beer, driving for hours for new beer releases and to try new breweries. As Philip and Sethu worked on the idea they noticed breweries shared a similar frustration as they had no easy way to reach their fans. Philip and Sethu spent the summer talking to people at beer festivals and realized they had to launch a delivery service.
Q: Where do you find all those beers? Do you try every each one of them?
A: We work directly with breweries in 47 different states to get their beer directly to our members. Each beer we share on the app is first tasted by us and heavily researched. Beer doesn’t talk until you open it. So we tell you all you need to know before you buy − including the beer’s origin story, what it tastes like and why people are after it.
Q: How would you convince the reader to start using your services?
A: You get access to beers that are not in your area! If you like trying new highly rated beer this is the app for you. There are no fees or commitments. You only pay for the beer that you decide you want to try. You’ll discover Tavour is the tastiest way to explore the world from the comfort of your own home. Especially when you invite your friends along for the ride!
Q: What’s the best thing about Tavour that people might not know about?
A: Every beer you buy through Tavour is certified independent! If we partner with a brewery and they go Macro (i.e. sell out to a stifling corporation), we stop working with them. We don’t even stutter when we say good-bye. Because we’ve made a choice to stand with the small producers and artisans on the front lines of craft. They fight everyday to keep their doors open and their patrons smiling. And you fight alongside them when you make the choice to care about what’s in your pint glass.
Q: What are your plans for the future?
A: Are plans are to work with more amazing breweries and reach even more craft beer fans across the United States.
