Below is our recent interview with Reenie & Stan Feingold from StoreSMART:
Q: Could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to StoreSMART?
A: StoreSMART began its journey in 1971 as a slide duplicating business called Visual Horizons. From then, it has grown and changed with the times, accepting a more digital age, to become a global leader in visual management.
We recognized that even in an age of digital communication, there is still a need for a physical, visual representation. As we like to put it, “We’re no tech for the high tech. We like to produce resilient, versatile products that allow everyone in your company to walk by a whiteboard and easily view the information at a glance. Visual Communication is on the rise!”
Reenie thinks of herself as a designer and inventor – and with an ever-growing list of proprietary products, that’s the perfect description.

Q: What are your most popular products?
A: Some of our most popular products are our newly patented Magnetic Closure Pockets, our Magnetic Smart Cards (in 3” x 5” and 3” x 3” sizes), all of which can be used with Dry Erase Markers, and our easy-to-apply magnetic lines.
You can design your entire whiteboard using our products, making visual communication so much easier. The Magnetic Closure Pocket is designed to securely hold your paperwork without it falling all over the place but also keeping it easily accessible to swiftly retrieve and replace critical information. Create grids on your boards with our magnetic lines. They don’t get wiped away or smeared like those drawn with dry erase markers. And our Magnetic Smart Cards and Mood Status Face Magnets help you to color code and assign tasks.
In fact, we use all of these products in our own office and manufacturing.
Q: What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced in your business and how did you overcome it?
A: The biggest challenge has been educating the various industries to increase their communication and to get more out of their whiteboards. Whiteboards can so often become a special kind of “wallpaper” and you’ve spent that money for nothing. Our products help prevent that from happening.
StoreSMART products focus on engaging the employees with color that help direct their eyes to the correct information, all of which are easily adaptable and mobile.
Q: What makes you stand out from your competition?
A: StoreSMART has 45+ years of commitment to educating industries, education and manufacturing, in the field of visual communication. We have a long list of proprietary products to fulfill the needs of our customers and we keep growing!

Q: What does the future hold?
A: Companies are furthering their education in visual communication. Not just in management but also in manufacturing and corporate communication (5S, Six Sigma & Lean Management). It gives companies a communal place to post their information in the open – productivity metrics, sales tracking, incident reports, machine status – the possibilities are endless.
Q: Where is the company headed?
A: The sky is the limit with StoreSMART. Our products are in the boardroom to manufacturing floors to the warehouse. And with Reenie, her staff and her customers coming up with new ideas seemingly every month, we have no plans of stopping our innovation and education.
