Q: What’s the story behind RewardStock? Could you introduce your company to our readers?
A: I was an investment banker working on Wall Street when my wife and I got married. We took an amazing honeymoon to the Maldives where we got $40K of travel for just $200 in cash, because we paid for the trip with frequent flyer miles, hotel points and credit card points. That experience was amazing, and when we came back I thought more people would want to do this. It took me 3 weeks of research to figure out how to make that happen, but I thought I could build software to help make that process easier, and that’s where the idea for RewardStock came about.
Q: Who is your ideal client and why?
A: Anyone who is serious about travel and saving money. The savings are especially great for younger travelers or honeymooners, who are taking a big trip and have some expenses coming up that can help them earn big bonuses. It’s also great for professionals that travel frequently or use credit cards for their purchases because we help you maximize the points you’re earning from your everyday spending and convert that into reward travel.
Q: What are the biggest challenges for your team?
A: Mainly just being a small team tackling a big problem. But we’ve been developing this solution for a few years now and consumers are saving real money.
Q: You have recently raised $320K, could you tell us more about it?
A: Our most recent investment comes from Mark Cuban, so that’s huge for our company. Mark brings a lot more than just capital, and has the resources to help us succeed.
Q: How do you see the future of RewardStock?
A: Millions of Americans use points every year, and millions more should! We want to help people all over the country travel more, and better, for less cash. It should be easy, and that’s what we aim to deliver.
