Below is our recent interview with Sergio Ribeiro, the Founder & CEO at Radiolife:

Q: Sergio, can you tell us something more about your technology?

A: Radiolife develops proprietary technology based on radio frequency signatures combined with artificial intelligence modeling aimed at disrupting global diagnostics with the potential to quickly (under 20 seconds), and at a low cost, detect the presence of different viruses, bacteria, and cancer cells, without the need for reagents.

Q: Any highlights on your recent announcement?

A: Radiolife recently received regulatory approval in Chile for Cube Scan for the detection of Covid-19 on nasal swab samples. Cube Scan was developed with Radiolife’s patented technology based on radio frequency pattern signatures combined with artificial intelligence modeling. Now we are running a crowdfunding campaign on Wefunder to raise funds for bringing the solution to the market and developing new diagnostic methods. With the distribution of Cube Scan and the ability to develop new tests, we are creating the so-called “fire alarm for pandemics”, an analogy made by Bill Gates in his book “How to prevent the next pandemic”.

Q: Can you give us more insights into your offering?

A: Cube Scan is a light and portable device developed for in-vitro analysis. Since it’s fast, simple to use, light-weight, and portable, it can potentially be used as POC (point of care) and even as Home Use technology.

The existing solutions for testing either rely on the use of reagents or are too expensive to be adopted massively and frequently by people. There is simply no other solution to prevent a new outbreak.

With Cube Scan we believe we can bring a real solution to the market with costs at least 10x lower than the currently available ones, creating a positive impact on people’s lives.

Q: What can we expect from your company in next 6 months? What are your plans?

A: At Radiolife, we strive for causing a positive impact on people’s lives by developing disruptive technology aimed at increasing longevity and reducing pain, consequently improving quality of life.

We all know the world needs better diagnostic solutions to be prepared for current and future outbreaks.

To get there, we are planning to in the next 6 months:

  • Bring our technology to the market.
  • Extend Cube Scan’s capabilities by developing new diagnostic models.
  • Expand our regulatory compliance globally.

Q: What is the best thing about your company that people might not know about?

A: Pandemics happen because of communicable diseases that are capable of quickly infecting people and spreading globally.

Every time a highly infectious virus is capable of infecting humans, the outbreak begins, and there’s not enough time to react, since developing vaccines and diagnostic methods takes time, usually years. So we need to be able to quickly develop a diagnostic method that is widely accessible, so people can quarantine and prevent the disease from infecting more people.

Our proprietary technology combines the beauty of radio frequency pattern signatures, with artificial intelligence modeling. It is a powerful combination that allows us to develop new methods for testing, categorizing samples faster than anyone else in the IVD industry, and considering that our device can be remotely upgraded with new diagnostic models, it makes Cube Scan the ultimate solution for current and future outbreaks.
