Founded in 2015, Qolture is an online furniture store with a comprehensive merchandise mix of furniture, bedding, and decorative accessories. Their innovative business model is transforming the way their customers shop for furniture through a valuable online shopping experience. Below is our recent interview with Karl Sutton, CEO of Qolture:
Q: Can you give us more insights into your Inventory?
A: Qolture carries furniture products for every living area in a customer’s home. For bedrooms, we carry blankets, sheets, pillowcases, ottomans, and comforters. For living rooms, we provide high-quality entertainment centers, sofas, and coffee tables. Our dining room tables and chairs give customers a broad range of products to choose from. Moreover, Qolture offers desks for home offices and conversation sets for outdoor patios and decks. Our kitchen and bath categories consist of shower curtains, bathroom storage cabinets, and small appliances. Lastly, in our accent category, we bring a wide array of items to our customers, including area rugs, mirrors, bookcases, lamps, shoe racks, and wall art.

Q: How does Qolture differ from its competition?
A: Many shoppers do not have the time to visit traditional brick-and-mortar furniture stores to browse and purchase products for their homes. As an online furniture retailer, Qolture—with a new, innovative business model that improves the overall customer experience— offers convenience for consumers with busy schedules. For instance, because we’re online, we’re always open. Shoppers can buy furniture, bedding, and decorative accessories at any time from the comfort of their homes. Furthermore, Qolture offers free shipping to customers with a cart value equal to or greater than $99. We also provide fast delivery and free returns within 90 days. Finally, Qolture offers furniture assembly services to customers who reside in Washington D.C., Maryland, and Northern Virginia via our long-term partnership with Furniture Assembly Experts, a highly respected company with a proven track record.
Q: What have been some major milestones over the last 12 months?
A: This year, our most important milestone has been our website’s growing blog content. Qolture has been publishing useful and valuable blog posts for its customers. Our contributing blog writer, Kristin Tablang, has published interviews of several HGTV & DIY Network hosts such as the Scott Brothers, Nicole Curtis, Alison Victoria, Listed Sisters, and Ken & Anita Corsini. Moreover, we recently published an interview with Ori Founder, Hasier Larrea. We have many more celebrity interviews in the pipeline for 2018 to share with our customers.
Q: More generally, how do you see the online furniture landscape developing, and where do you place yourself in the industry?
A: According to FurnitureToday.com, aggregate sales of the top 100 furniture stores increased from $40.61 billion in 2015 to $43.51 billion in 2016. While approximately 90% of furniture stores have a website, only 25% of those stores accept orders online. Qolture is transforming this antiquated business model. We are altering the way people shop for furniture by fully satisfying their needs via online channels. Furthermore, in the future, we will place a high priority on innovation. Qolture will experiment with augmented reality and real-time video technology to increase market share and improve the shopping experience of our customers.
