Parspec secures $20 million in Series A funding to expand its AI-powered platform for construction material procurement. The software improves bid accuracy, reduces turnaround times, and supports compliance by analyzing complex specifications and sourcing from a database of over 6 million products. Backed by strong revenue growth and major industry partners, Parspec plans to launch new order management and contractor collaboration tools by the end of 2025.

$20 Million Boost Puts Parspec in the Spotlight

Parspec, a software platform designed for construction product procurement, announces a $20 million Series A funding round led by Threshold Ventures. Additional participation comes from Innovation Endeavors, Building Ventures, Heartland Ventures, and Hometeam Ventures. This funding brings the company’s total raised to $31 million.

Founded in 2021, Parspec operates from San Mateo, California. The platform supports wholesale distributors and sales agents in the construction sector by improving bid accuracy and response time through artificial intelligence.

Why the Construction Industry Is Ripe for Disruption

The global construction sector was valued at $16 trillion in 2024, with $5 trillion flowing through its materials supply chain. Despite this scale, the procurement process still relies heavily on manual methods like emails and phone calls. These outdated practices are inefficient, introducing frequent delays and errors.

Compared to industries such as auto parts and electronics, labor costs in construction materials procurement are twice as high, underscoring inefficiencies in the current process.

How Parspec’s AI Gives Distributors a Competitive Edge

Parspec’s software uses multimodal AI models capable of analyzing complex construction documents, including design drawings and specification sheets. The system extracts critical requirements and identifies suitable products from a catalog of over 6 million items.

To maintain data integrity, Parspec has developed an automated data pipeline. This system pulls and organizes product details daily from thousands of manufacturer websites, keeping the database current.

Users receive a ranked list of products that align with specific technical requirements, streamlining compliance and reducing the need for manual cross-checking.

What Customers Say About the Platform

Clients using Parspec report significant improvements in operational efficiency. U.S. Electrical Services, Inc. noted a 50–100% gain in labor productivity. According to its Chief Digital Officer, Rama Theekshidar, the platform helps reduce quote and submittal turnaround times, enabling the company to pursue more projects and grow profitability.

Graybar, a major distributor, credits Parspec with improving the speed and accuracy of its bidding process. Danna Stone, Senior Vice President of Marketing, highlights the integration of Parspec into their services as a step toward enhanced customer experience.

Crescent Electric Supply also reports time savings and a higher level of professionalism in deliverables. The company has joined Parspec’s steering committee to guide future platform development.

A Closer Look at Parspec’s Next Move

The Series A funds will be directed toward expanding Parspec’s platform in two major areas:

  • Distributor Order Management: End-to-end functionality covering the entire project order lifecycle, from quoting to fulfillment.
  • Contractor Portal: A system offering construction material buyers access to project documents, delivery tracking, and real-time communication tools.

These features are currently being developed in coordination with companies such as Rexel, Border States, U.S. Electrical Services, and Crescent Electrical Supply. The commercial launch of these tools is scheduled for the end of 2025.

Fourfold Revenue Growth Signals Strong Market Demand

Over the past year, Parspec reports a 4x increase in annual revenue. The platform is now used by hundreds of distributors and sales agents, including four of the five largest electrical distributors in the U.S. These top-tier clients represent a combined $70 billion in annual global sales.

Parspec began with a focus on lighting and electrical products and has since expanded to mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) categories. These segments account for roughly one-quarter of total construction material expenditures in the U.S.

Why This AI-Driven Startup Stands Out in Construction Tech

Parspec’s foundation rests on improving long-standing inefficiencies in the construction supply chain. Its co-founders, Forest Flager and Pratyush Havelia, designed the company to bring intelligent automation to the fragmented B2B procurement space.

The software gives distributors and sales agents the ability to manage complex product requirements with speed and accuracy. Integration of AI-driven product discovery and quoting tools sets Parspec apart from conventional solutions.

By developing its platform with input from industry partners, Parspec maintains a practical approach to software innovation grounded in current user challenges.

What This Means for the Future of Building Smarter

Parspec is building a digital infrastructure for construction procurement that reduces labor demands, improves bid quality, and enables faster project execution. Through sustained partnerships and an expanding set of tools, the platform contributes to a more connected supply ecosystem.

With significant backing and measurable performance improvements reported by clients, Parspec continues to align itself with industry-scale challenges and opportunities.
