Below is our recent interview with Jill Hourani, VP Marketing and Salesforce Alliance at Metazoa:
Q: Jill, can you tell us something more about your suite of products ?
A: Metazoa builds a suite of products that helps administrators manage complex Salesforce orgs. We like to focus on the most difficult and time consuming challenges that administrators are struggling with. Our focus includes technical debt reduction, user access management, security and compliance documentation, and org splits and mergers. Our flagship product Snapshot is available on the AppExchange.
Q: Any highlights on your recent announcement?
A: We recently announced three Solution Centers that are also available on the AppExchange. The centers are for Technical Debt Reduction, Profile & Permission Set Management, and Org Documentation and Compliance. These products are subsets of the available capabilities in Snapshot, but they are easier to use and focus directly on a particular problem. The publication of the Solution Centers is part of our effort to automate common administrative problems for Salesforce administrators.
Q: Can you give us more insights into your offering?
A: Many Salesforce orgs get more complex every day. As these orgs approach the 10 year mark, technical debt can become a major impairment to org health and security. Metazoa provides a comprehensive set of tools to discover the sources of technical debt in the org, and we also enable administrators to remove these problems and restore org health. We also have a user access management solution to ensure that org security is maintained as permissions change over time. Lastly, all of this activity needs comprehensive documentation for governance and compliance. Metazoa publishes detailed reports that help Salesforce administrators visualize org complexity.
Q: What can we expect from your company in next 6 months? What are your plans?
A: In the next six months we plan to sharpen our focus on automating mission critical org management challenges for administrators. Ideally, we should be able to scan an org, discover problems in a particular domain, and then automatically bring up recommendations for fixing the issues with the org. The administrator selects the problems that they want to fix, and clicks a button to remove technical debt, transition to lightning, duplicate the org, etc. We think the automation of org management challenges is a huge area for improvement on the Salesforce platform.

Q: What is the best thing about your company that people might not know about?
A: Our main office is at 1 University Avenue in Los Gatos, California. This building has been here for almost 200 years. There are some great pictures of parades down Main Street with horses and buggies and you can see our office next to the Opera House. This office fits our corporate culture well. The team that founded Metazoa also wrote the first AppExchange application back in 2005. This is a family oriented company that is really dedicated to helping Salesforce administrators.
