Below is our recent interview with Bastian Krautwald, the Founder and CEO of Wajve:

Q: Could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to your company?

A: Wajve is the financial platform for Generation Z that bundles banking, advice and education in one app. Our team is on a mission to facilitate excellent financial actions in seconds. By combining comprehensive banking services and tips delivered at the right moments, the new generation gets a smart buddy on their cell phones that helps them understand finances, grow their money and stay liquid.

Q: Any highlights on your recent announcement?

A: The highlight of our announcement is in my eyes the prominent support we received:

Next to the leading international VCs, EQT Ventures and 468 Capital, we could also win support from Finleap — Europe’s largest fintech ecosystem –, OMR, and top tier business angels including Lucas von Cranach (CEO of OneFootball), Roland Grenke (co-founder of Dubsmash and Acapela Group), and Christian Gaiser (CEO of COSI).

This makes us very proud and shows that many successful and experienced personalities share our vision with wajve.

Q: Can you give us more insights into your offering?

A: Our offering addresses the Generation Z, constituting 32% of the global population. This Generation shares different values, motives, and needs. As such, they respond to different marketing measures than, for example, Gen X or Millennials.

With wajve we provide daily financial advice to Gen Z, empowering the new generation to take control of their finances and supporting great decisions, all through one app.

Q: What can we expect from your company in next 6 months? What are your plans?

A: We will use the funding to accelerate the roll-out of the platform, which will be launched this year, for the first customers in Germany before expanding into other European markets.

Q: What is a great thing about your company that people might not know about?

A: To build a successful product, you need to understand your target group: their needs, wishes, and worries.

Wajve does not only serve the GenZ but is built by the young generation. Not all, but many of our team members, including me, belong to the GenZ and can therefore perfectly understand what the young people need. Combining our older and more experienced colleagues with the young guns makes us the perfect team to build such products.
