Below is our interview with Veena Vadgama, VP of Marketing at Telestax:
Q: Could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to your company?
A: Telestax is the leading provider of communications platform as a service (CPaaS) for global communications companies. Communication Service Providers use the Telestax CPaaS platform to bring the value of cloud communications to their enterprise customers. Telecoms can effectively compete with CPaaS players and we are the company to help them get there.
Q: What is CPaaS exactly?
A: It’s a great question. It’s programmable cloud communications. For example when you utilize two factor authentication and you get a code via text message – that is CPaaS. When a company texts you to tell your package is on its way – that is CPaaS. When you get an automated call to say your vaccine appointment is ready to be scheduled that is CPaaS. Essentially it’s when consumers can interact with organizations via text or phone.

Q: Is this a big market?
A: Absolutely. As an industry recognized by Gartner for a growth rate approaching 40 percent, CPaaS, and the features and applications of Telestax are helping organizations to make the most of their digital transformation – which for most businesses is critical to their continued success. One of the reasons for the growth is the pandemic. Whether it’s SMS, chat, IVR, or security applications like two-factor authentication for account protection, Telestax CPaaS is behind many solutions that are driving the pandemic recovery.
Q: Any highlights on your recent announcement?
A: With our recent announcement regarding our new point of presence (PoP) in India, we now cover 12 zones in 4 geographic regions around the world. We have always been a global company, and are committed to creating the right infrastructure, capabilities, and support for the world’s biggest telecom companies that, in turn, bring CPaaS apps and features to all of these diverse markets and enterprises. Not only were we able to develop this PoP in ten weeks, but we’ve also brought on ten major communications providers in the last year. It’s a three-part focus for us in maximized geographical coverage, an expanding roster of partners, and flexible, high-quality solutions.

Q: Can you give us more insights into your offering?
A: CPaaS is just an acronym for all of the communications applications that people use every day. You get a text message about your flight, that’s CPaaS. A banking customer logs into their online account from a new device and receives a five-digit security code, that is also CPaaS. Telehealth, remote learning, all of these use cases that require real-time communications options are building on the capabilities and features of CPaaS. It is a very modular thing. You can visualize through our drag-and-drop interface each block being positioned as part of a whole and there’s really no limit to what you can create. Every user seems to customize their own solutions and build something different.
Q: What can we expect from your company in the next 6 months?
A: What are your plans? Right now we are focused intently on ensuring the success of our partners. We’ve got a robust sales enablement strategy, including our CPaaS Sales Certification Training, which is the only one of its kind in the industry. With that in mind, we also have some exciting new features and capabilities that will help our partners and their customers to meet and exceed their business goals over the coming months.
Q: What is the best thing about your company that people might not know about?
A: In addition to being a global company, we are a highly distributed company. We always like to say that our teams worked remotely before it was trendy, or as in the case of the pandemic, necessary. I am so proud of the dedication, resourcefulness, and innovation that our teams around the world demonstrate each day, working in every time zone, and able to serve customers literally 24/7, 365 days a year.
