Below is our recent interview with Jamie Peers, from Synatic:

Q: What is Synatic? For those who have never heard of it, tell us something more?

A: The Synatic data platform is a combination solution of iPaaS, ESB, ETL, API Management and Big Data, created to provide a holistic solution that delivers data integration, automation, and movement with incredible speed. With simple to use tools coupled with enterprise grade features, we cut data integration, automation and analytics time and cost by up to 70%.

Synatic believes in the incremental organization and that constant positive improvement is the compound interest of innovation. By providing a toolset that enables the organization to be nimble and iterate quickly, the organization can more quickly take advantage of opportunities and react to market challenges.

Q: Can you give us more insights into your platform?

A: Data Engine

Traditional tools required separate infrastructure for data manipulation and storage, Synatic provides a highly integrated, simple data engine for data manipulation, with access built directly into the tool.

API/Service Builder

Quickly manage and deploy microservices and API’s based on underlying data flows and memory caches without any coding required. With support for SOAP, REST, GraphQL, oData and specific schemas for PowerQuery and PowerBI, data can be made available for any application, securely.

Operations Manager

One of the key components of data automation and integration is people and how they interact with the operation and management of the platform itself and the larger data ecosystem. Synatic provides an Operations Manager that allows end users to monitor, manage and manipulate data in a secure and controlled manner.


The modern enterprise ecosystem consists of many different environments, from on premise, to private and public clouds. Synatic provides deployment flexibility and allows for multiple different deployment nodes within our cloud (fully hosted iPaaS with multiple regions), in the organizations cloud on AWS or Azure, on-premise or a hybrid approach.


Speed to value is a core driver of the Synatic Data Platform and providing predefined solutions that can be installed from our Solution store enable common use cases to be configured within minutes. The ability for the organization to manage their own common solutions with full versioning enable data solutions to get going in minimal time.

Q: Who would be your ideal user and why?

A: We serve three predominant plays at the moment. 1) Clients who need integration done simply, nimbly and powerfully. We are usually dealing with people who know their needs, but without deep tech capability here. Therefore we provide both he platform and services. 2) companies who are already implementing a solution and need to integrate that into their clients other systems easily. These partners usually bring their own tech capability to the fore. 3) OEM partners for whom we build out an ecosystem play around their existing solution.

Q: You’ve recently raised your Seed funding; can you tell us something more?

A: Synatic has raised funding from Allan Gray and private equity firm Umkhathi Wethu (UW Ventures) to expand operations globally.

With the modern world being relatively borderless and digital transformation happening faster than ever, Synatic believes it is perfectly positioned to target international business. It sees the changes in the world as a huge opportunity to help customers accelerate their digital transformation journey.

Q: What are your plans for the future? Do you have any new features in the pipeline?

A: The business’s target is to be the first rhino; Africa’s version of a unicorn. Our vision is to be a SA routed rhino . We also have international appeal in the data space and therefore required capital to realise our international ambitions and to expand our customer base.

Our strategy is to utilise the investment for gdoubling the team, and dramatically increasing marketing spend and thus awareness of our product.
