Below is our recent interview with Jacob Boudreau, Founder & CTO of Stord:
Q: Could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to Stord?
A: Stord is the Cloud Supply Chain—empowering brands to build sophisticated, agile, and integrated logistics networks, for a fraction of the cost (and even less time than) it would take to build themselves.Today’s leading CPGs, E-commerce brands, and retailers leverage our state-of-the-art cloud software connected to a network of 400+ warehouses, 15,000+ carriers, and extended 3PL services to reach new customers, faster, and improve visibility of their supply chains.
Q: Can you give us more insights into your cloud-based software platform?
A: Our software platform allows companies to manage the entire order-to-ship supply chain cycle. From the time the order leaves a shipper’s ERP, we are building to orchestrate its end-to-end movement. Our core platform is the control tower to offer visibility and connection to a complex ecosystem of software primitives that includes inventory management, order orchestration, warehouse management, and more.
Q: What are some of the real-world results enterprises can expect with your solution?
A: Faster delivery lead time. Increased supply chain agility and speed of innovation. Cost savings as they move from a fixed cost to variable cost model. Their last integration to their supply chain.
Q: You’ve recently raised $31,000,000 in Series B funding; can you tell us something more?
A: Re-architecting one of the worlds largest and most outdated industries is no small feat, requiring the right capital as well as expertise around the table. To fulfill this mission, we’re excited to welcome Founders Fund to our journey, who has a long track-record partnering with companies to disrupt massive industries. Our Series B also included significant participation from existing investors Kleiner Perkins, Susa Ventures, and Dynamo, as well as participation from strategic investors such as Jeffrey Raider at Good Friends Fund (Co-Founder of Harrys and Warby Parker), Karen Page at B Capital Group via its Ascent Fund (an early-stage, partner-backed fund), and BoxGroup. Our world-class investors collectively provide us the expertise needed to rebuild a massive category while partnering with both sophisticated enterprise brands as well as rapidly growing e-commerce companies.
Q: What are your plans and goals for the future?
A: We will continue scaling our supply chain services, cloud software, and customer experience to support companies across all aspects of distribution.
