Below is our recent interview with Ellie Dailey, the Founder & CEO of Intro30.com:

Q: Could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to Intro30.com?

A: Yes indeed, thank you!

Intro30 is the First Impression Company, where candidates introduce themselves with 30-second videos.

Intro30 was born after nearly 20 years of working in the recruitment industry, and due to an increasing frustration with the limitations of the written resume.

When I’m hiring people I want to MEET candidates.

As a candidate, I want to feel empowered to Introduce Myself before having to wait for an invitation to an interview.

30-second videos in a professional profile are the key to saving huge amounts of time, money and frustration on both sides of the recruitment table.

Q: How exactly does your platform work?

A: Intro30 is a recruitment ecosystem that allows candidates to record 30-second introduction videos (or elevator pitches) as part of a professional and shareable Intro30 Profile.

An Intro30 Profile is a 3-page profile that includes their resume (in word for keyword searches and PDF for downloads), availability, interests, location etc.

Candidates can share this profile inside and outside of Intro30 (on their resume, business card, LinkedIn profile) via URL or QR code. For free.

Recruiters and hiring managers can register and create Company Profiles and add their jobs. Candidates can apply to their roles on the system, and recruiters can also actively search for candidates via location, keyword etc.

Recruiters can access this database of candidates, watch 30-second intro videos and contact the candidates directly.

It is a monthly subscription ($200 per location per month) so there are no added recruitment fees.

We are also building a StartUps profile page where fledgling companies can add their pitch decks and a 30-second elevator pitch for investors and partners.

Q: Why do we need to change the way recruitment is done? What’s wrong with it the way it is now?

A: Great question.

For most candidates – job searching isn’t all fun and games. It can be demoralizing, exhausting and frustrating. In fact, Forbes recently reported that 83% of candidates describe their job search experience as Poor.

For companies: recruitment is time-consuming and expensive. It takes an average of 3 months to fill a job. And the gap between receiving a resume and actually meeting that person is around 2 weeks!!

Intro30 can save companies up to 30% of their recruitment cost and time, and possibly more with our full suite of tools at their disposal.

The resume is also missing the point. We want to hire successful people. Not keywords. According to LinkedIn, 85% of hiring managers want candidates with the Right Attitude. Only 40% value tech skills as highly.

So we’re all frustrated, and the answer is looking right at us.

Video is ubiquitous. Around 3 billion snaps are sent on Snapchat per day. TikTok has 800 million active monthly users. 63% of companies utilize video in their interviewing.

It’s only a matter of time before the Video Resume replaces the written one.

But video resumes need to be accessible, professional and shareable. Intro30 is all 3.

We have created video tutorial content and will run weekly webinars as well as one-to-one consultations.

Q: What are your plans for the future?
