Below is our recent interview with Erik Larson, CEO & Co-founder at eIMPACT:

Q: Erik, what is eIMPACT?

A: eIMPACT is a labor market data visualization software company based in the Portland, Oregon metro area. The company’s cloud-based platform is utilized by workforce and economic development organizations around the country. Clients of eIMPACT include cities, such as Escondido, CA and College Park, MD, counties, such as Orange County, CA, workforce organizations, like Workforce Solutions Capital Area (Austin, TX), chambers of commerce, such as the Greater Federal Way Chamber, WA, and the Green Bay Chamber, WI, as well as a range of different economic organizations such as the Flint & Genesee Economic Alliance, MI.

Q: Any highlights on your recent announcement?

A: The myCareerPathway™ Dashboard was originally created to help solve a critical gap in workers undergoing a job or career transition: how to gain insights into the labor market, in-demand skills, and compensation trends based on real, up-to-date data. Currently, this type of search is an opaque undertaking, leaving candidates working in the dark at an already stressful time. The product features data by Lightcast, the global leader in labor market information and analytics.

eIMPACT’s also works with Labor Market Information (LMI) data visualization dashboards for public data reporting, as well as dashboards for business attraction programs within economic development organizations and to report progress to stakeholders.

CareerSource North Central Florida will roll out the myCareerPathway™ Dashboard in all their one-stop locations as well as through a web-based portal, serving thousands of customers each month. The organization will be featuring the product at the upcoming Florida Workforce Summit, which will take place in Orlando in September.

Q: Can you give us more insights into your offering?

A: The product is cloud-based, accessible on any device, and embeddable into other software platforms. Users can generate their own career pathway dashboard on-the-fly, in just a couple of seconds based on their location and job title. Many users are also using the tool to explore new career options based on their transferable skills – a major trend in the global labor market.

Q: What can we expect from your company in next 6 months? What are your plans?

A: Part of our focus will be rolling out the myCareerPathway™ Dashboard via direct sales and channel partnerships. The company will continue to release new features for users as well as enter new markets for its products, including higher ed and career transition.

eIMPACT experienced rapid growth based on a highly scalable SaaS business model. The customer footprint now spans the United States, from coast to coast. You can expect to see our name coming up in more places, so much so that we will be exhibiting at the International Economic Development Council conference in Oklahoma City this September, as well as at the Florida Workforce Summit that same month.

Q: What is the best thing about your company that people might not know about?

A: For data nerds, we’re pretty fun! Our products reflect our commitment to making data accessible to everyone, as many people are intimidated or overwhelmed by the concept of using data. It’s not just about having access to data. That part is easy. You have hundreds of different sources to choose from. But it’s equally easy to drown in all that information. Not to mention being extremely time-consuming to sort everything out. eIMPACT takes that burden out of our client’s hands and simplifies data through clear, visual formats within its dashboard products. To achieve this user experience, you have to develop your product in a culture that keeps things light while delivering value and innovation.
