Q: Could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to your company?
A: DefenderShield is a world recognized e-commerce health and wellness technology company. I started DefenderShield back in 2011, with my son Ryan DeBaun, after learning of the research showing biological effects of mobile device frequencies on the body. At the time, I was a retired telecom engineer, after working as an engineer and executive with Bell and AT&T labs for over 30 years. I created the only laptop pad that was able to block all electromagnetic frequencies (EMF) emitting from a laptop from reaching someone’s lap. Our mission has been to improve digital wellness and reduce the harmful effects of technology, including EMF emissions, blue light, and now cybersecurity! Our Security and Privacy Series, or our Faraday Line, is the newest addition to our online product offerings that block electromagnetic frequencies (EMF) from mobile devices and wireless networks.
Q: Any highlights on your recent announcement?
A: Our Ultra ArmorTM shielding took 2 years to develop, and blocks up to 99.999% of all wireless frequencies up to 90 GHz. I worked alongside and guided alloy specialists, who make shielding products for the military, to manufacture the only shielding currently able to block the entire accessible 5G spectrum, which currently have bands up to about 50 GHz in the US.
5G is seen as an international security threat. With cyberattacks only continuing to increase, using 5G radio frequencies to hack into a device from a nearby distance may become an easy process for cybercriminals, since there isn’t any other technology that can prevent radiofrequency attacks above 40 GHz.
Our Faraday Line is made to block 5G radiofrequency attacks (up to 90GHz), along with all other wireless radiofrequency attacks. When a cybercriminal is in close proximity to your electronic device that is connected to a network or wireless signal, they are able to send a wireless frequency to your device that will hack into your computer and tether your data to an outside server. They are then able to steal any data on that device, regardless of cloud security, password security, or other software security.

Q: Can you give us more insights into your offering?
A: All our Faraday line products are bags or sleeves, lined with our 360-degree Ultra Armor shielding technology. A complete seal is formed when the magnetic flap or roll-down material is securely closed. This blocks all incoming and outgoing signals, all cellular signals (including 5G), WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC, RFID, EMP, and other radio frequencies.
Our products currently include a phone pouch, laptop / tablet pouch, key fob pouch, a duffel bag, and a MOLLE utility bag, and are geared towards anyone with confidential information, personal data, or other valuable data stored on their devices.
Even with cybersecurity software and online or cloud-based cybersecurity measures in place, radiofrequency hackers can still get access to data on your computer if they are in a close proximity. Our products create Faraday cages to protect the device from any radiofrequency hackers, even those using the new 5G spectrum.
Government employees, forensic investigators, the military, large and small businesses, and especially businesses that store and track a lot of data should use our products as their last line of defense in their cybersecurity measures.
Q: What can we expect from your company in the next 6 months? What are your plans?
A: In the future, we are planning on releasing more Security and Privacy products with our Ultra Armor shielding technology. Looking ahead, we will begin to develop shielding that can block over 90 GHz, for when telecom companies eventually get to those frequencies. With our new privacy and security product line, we are looking to expand into the B2B space to outfit companies and large enterprises with cybersecurity Faraday bags. On top of all this, we plan to continue to pioneer the digital health space by protecting from EMF frequencies.

A: We were started by myself and my son who wanted to raise awareness of an issue many people didn’t know about, and, despite large e-commerce growth, we have remained very invested in helping people however we can, with products that we believe in and use ourselves every day. We have become the trusted advisor in EMF shielding and education, and are a resource for people who want to learn.
