Below is our recent interview with Veronica Grigoriou, Director Of Communications And Public Relations at B–ON:
Q: Could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to your company?
A: B–ON is an electric vehicle manufacturer and electrification services provider for fleet customers. We’ve been producing and deploying electric fleets since 2017, with over 20,000 of our 100% battery electric light commercial vehicles already on the road, delivering the post for DPDHL in Germany and other last-mile providers around the world. In addition to a proven electric vehicle, B–ON also provides access to a full suite of supporting services, including charging infrastructure, service & maintenance, telematics, financing, and more, that make switching to electric vehicles as simple and cost-effective as possible.
Q: Any highlights on your recent announcement?
A: B–ON recently appointed Joerg Hofmann as President and Chief Operating Officer, to oversee all existing vehicle programs and related operations. Before coming to B–ON, Joerg was the CEO of the London Electric Vehicle Company (LEVC), where he led the transition of the iconic British black cab maker from a producer of diesel to battery electric cars. Prior to this, he held several senior leadership roles within Audi AG, including Executive Director of Asia Pacific, Managing Director of Audi Australia, Managing Director of Audi Retail Germany, and most recently CEO and President of Audi Brazil.

Q: Can you give us more insights into your offering?
A: Our offering is twofold: in the vehicles themselves, and in supporting the deployment of an electric fleet.
From the hardware side, we are currently offering the only proven electric commercial vehicle on the market, with more than 8 years in full production and over 400 million kilometers of work behind it. This vehicle was designed by drivers, for drivers and is designed to provide everything you need and nothing you don’t. There’s no expensive deep tech, no useless add-ons, just an ergonomic, reliable, and easy-to-use electric vehicle that drivers love.
From the software and services side, we have data and experience from deploying more than 20,000 electric vehicles around the globe. Many of our customers know they need to shift to electric vehicles soon, but have no idea where to start. B–ON guides customers through the process step-by-step, creating and connecting customized solutions for their electric fleet.
Q: What can we expect from your company in next 6 months? What are your plans?
A: We recently announced a partnership with Karma Automotive in Los Angeles to manufacture our vehicles at their state-of-the-art Innovation and Customization Center. This was a huge deal for us, as the facility has capacity to produce up to 30,000 vehicles per year for North and Latin American markets, in addition to the 30,000 annual capacity line we’re already running in Dueren, Germany. Our next 6 months will focus on ramping up production in both locations and continuing to deliver on our existing customer commitments.

Q: What is the best thing about your company that people might not know about?
A: B–ON is a globally dispersed team with no centralized offices! When we founded our company, we decided that we wanted to work with the best talent in the world, wherever in the world they wanted to work. That led us to develop a remote-first, digitally-native culture that gives maximum flexibility to our employees while still keeping us agile and moving. We currently have full-time employees in Asia, Europe, North, South and Central America all working together to bring our dream to life!
