Below is our recent interview with Pasi Tuomainen, the Founder, CEO, and CTO at Arction Ltd., company behind LightningChart:

Q: Could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to LightningChart?

A: LightningChart® was born from the need that medical device manufacturers had to overcome their struggle while working with commercial and performance-limited charting controls.

Back in 2007, these data visualization controls had an incredibly low performance and medical applications, for instance, EEG, demanded a high volume of data points and fast rendering.

That made us study different gaming technologies to use the rapidly growing computation power of graphics processing units. We achieved this not only in 3D rendering, but 2D rendering as well.

In the past years, LightningChart® has strongly focused on improving its performance and what this means for the end-user. That is how we have developed two solution lines, one for .NET and one for JavaScript.

Both LightningChart® for .NET and JS provide a record-breaking performance that suits every single requirement of data-driven applications in the world’s most demanding industries, such as science, research and development, medicine, engineering, and aerospace.

Q: Any highlights on your recent LightningChart® for JavaScript v.3.0.1 announcement?

A: Yes! In May 2021, we had a world-record improvement for LightningChart® JavaScript. The world of Data Visualization will not be the same anymore as we can proudly say that our charting control can now render over 10 million data points in real-time.

For those who are eager to dive into details, we hit this massive amount of data while keeping the memory footprint and the CPU overhead minimal. LightningChart® JS continues having an incredibly fast mouse-interaction response and an average of 164.1 Frames Per Second using a high-end desktop device.

However, from the end user’s perspective, the latest achievement of LightningChart® JS translates into data-driven applications that will handle large data sets with an almost zero rendering delay allowing users to process their data in real-time with a fast and smooth response. When implementing LightningChart® on a high-end desktop device, it is roughly 700 times faster than an average competitor.

Imagine how millions of data points pouring on a device’s screen device without delay can break the limits of data visualization and help the most demanding industries to perform and analyze their most demanding tasks.

That is the mission of LightningChart®.

Q: Can you give us more insights into your LightningChart® JS Data Visualization library offering?

A: Of course! LightningChart® has a solution for everyone, including those who need a ready-made, cost-efficient, and powerful data visualization control and those who are still hesitating about which charting control to choose.

We invite all the interested Software Engineers, Product Managers, Software Developers, Data Scientists, and data and software professionals to try LightningChart® JavaScript for free for 30 days and implement the LightningChart® charting library into their non-commercial projects.

Users will benefit from full GPU acceleration, WebGL rendering, touchscreen compatibility, and 100+ different chart types, exceeding all Data Visualization industry standards.

We want to support data-oriented professionals to start managing their projects with the help of an advanced charting library of easy implementation and a quick-learning curve.

Q: What can we expect from your company in next 6 months? What are your plans?

A: Our Data Science and Software Development teams are working on big improvements on both .NET and JavaScript solutions lines. These improvements are in the short run and will increase the standards of the current Data Visualization industry. We do not want to spoil everything, but we can say that serious performance improvements are around the corner, which will clear all the possible doubts regarding which charting library is the performance leader in the industry, which is LightningChart®.

So, we encourage all data-oriented professionals to stay connected with us through our social media channels and follow our news because big improvements are on the way!
