For more than 20 years, Munck Wilson Mandala has been focused on technology clients. This has led to them building one of the strongest and most talented “technology-focused” legal teams in the United States. Below is our recent interview with the managing partner William Munck:

Bill Munck

Q: What is unique about Munck Wilson Mandala and how does it stand out from competition?

A: We were named the fastest growing Texas-based law firm in 2017 and that was before we acquired an IP boutique that added an additional seven patent attorneys to our roster. At the time of this interview, we had 60+ attorneys, over 100 employees and two offices. We have 30 registered patent attorneys with over 500 years of combined technical and legal experience representing clients in patent preparation and prosecution, licensing and litigation.

In addition to patent law and litigation we have a strong team of lawyers in employment and labor law, corporate and securities law, and commercial litigation. We represent start-up companies as well as Fortune 50 corporations. We are priced competitively and we work efficiently with our clients to identify solutions to their business challenges.

Q: What geographic markets are you focusing on currently?

A: We represent clients around the world, protecting their ideas, inventions and business. Our headquarters is in Dallas and we have a thriving office in Austin. Many of our attorneys travel nationally and internationally to represent our clients in other regions.

We are not limited by borders, languages or regions.

Q: You’ve recently elected Neil Ferrari as a 2018 Partner; tell us something more?

A: We elected Neil Ferrari in 2018 and we elected Jacob Lacombe and Kelly Chen in 2017. These are extremely proud moments for me because when I think about the firm’s future, it’s my hope that it will be led by lawyers who bring smart-business and client-relationship skills to the table. These new partners, Neil, Jake and Kelly represent that future. They are “team first” and give their best to everything they do.

Q: What are your plans for next six months?

A: Munck Wilson Mandala was once again selected as a top IP law firm in Texas by Chambers USA. We have increased the number of attorneys who have been listed as Super Lawyers, Rising Stars and Best Lawyers in America consecutively these past three years. This past year we were ranked the third largest patent law firm in North Texas.

Our plan for the next six months is to keep this excellent momentum going. We will continue to hire smart people to supplement our IP, corporate and litigation practices. We will continue to give our clients the best work product and service they deserve. We will continue to differentiate ourselves in the market by being smarter, working harder and maintaining a fun culture for our employees.
