Omen AI Raises $31M for Data Center Cooling

Omen AI has raised a $31 million Series A funding round to address data center cooling inefficiencies. The round was led by Nava Ventures, with participation from CRV, Vanderbilt University, and several automotive executives.

The startup develops miniature spectrometers that monitor the fluid health of liquid cooled GPU systems in real time. Liquid cooling setups frequently suffer from bacterial outbreaks and contamination when operators increase water ratios to run chips hotter. Flushing these clogged systems can take up to six hours, costing facilities millions of dollars in downtime.

Originally focused on heavy machinery fluid monitoring, Omen AI pivoted to data centers after clients highlighted an industry wide blind spot in environmental cooling diagnostics. The startup competes with on-premises analytic firms like Pyxis.

Comcast Announces Strategic Spinoff

Comcast Corporation officially announced a tax free spin-off separating its core technology and connectivity operations from its expansive media footprint. Following this massive structural reorganization, Comcast will sharpen its focus exclusively on broadband, wireless, and business connectivity services across 65 million American households. Meanwhile, the newly independent media business, led by CEO Mike Cavanagh, will control NBCUniversal’s television studios, Universal theme parks, Peacock, and Sky. Former chief financial officer Michael Angelakis will return to head the streamlined Comcast broadband unit.

This dramatic corporate breakup answers a challenging multi year decline for legacy cable networks upended by rapid cord cutting and streaming competition. Wall Street responded with immediate enthusiasm to the restructuring news, sending Comcast shares jumping over 6% during Monday morning trading. The transaction will take roughly one year to complete, eventually giving existing shareholders proportional equity stakes in both separate public entities.
