Below is our recent interview with Thomas Koll, CEO at Laplink Software:

Q: Would you provide our readers with a brief introduction to your company?

A: Laplink Software has been a global leader in consumer, SMB, and enterprise Windows endpoint migration software for nearly 40 years. During this time, our company has earned the loyalty and trust of millions of organizations and customers worldwide. Laplink’s PCmover software helps IT teams and users save time and budget, reduces migration risk, and increases efficiency. Only PCmover’s proprietary technology includes full selectivity that transfers data, applications, and settings from an old PC to a new one, even if the two PCs run different versions of Windows.

Q: What are the highlights from your recent announcement about Laplink’s new PCmover Enterprise software with Intel EMA?

A: We are pleased to announce that our work with Intel has resulted in a powerful new product that will significantly benefit enterprise organizations’ bottom line. Laplink PCmover Enterprise with EMA server integration, which is available now, is an innovative solution for overworked IT teams that are looking for ways to operate more efficiently and reduce labor costs.

The latest version of our PCmover Enterprise software with integration of the Intel Endpoint Management Assistant (Intel EMA) provides IT teams with an easy-to-use solution that gives them more control when performing PC migrations. In fact, PCmover Enterprise now provides new functionality leveraging Intel EMA to manage Intel vPro® devices which provides IT administrators with more control and flexibility. This enables organizations to manage PC deployments and operating system refreshes more efficiently, thus reducing the need to budget for additional labor costs.

PCmover Enterprise’s new Intel EMA and vPro integration also streamlines the remote execution of multiple Windows endpoint data migrations from a single pane of glass, including the ability to remotely install and run PCmover Enterprise software with low or even no-touch configurations. It provides access to all PCs managed by IT and includes power-management functionality directly within PCmover.

During our product development, we worked closely with the Intel team including Stephanie Hallford, Vice President and General Manager of Business Client Platforms at Intel Corporation, who has said that the collaboration with our company was very productive.

“We are very excited to collaborate with Laplink on the integration of the Intel vPro platform into Laplink PCmover Enterprise software,” Hallford said. “PCmover has been the app and data migration standard on Windows PC devices for more than 15 years, so we were eager to work together with Laplink to enable PC migration management via the Intel Endpoint Management Assistant (Intel EMA) console for IT managers. Intel vPro is the more secure choice for endpoint security and manageability, and this new capability in PCmover will enable enterprise, education, and government organizations the ability to further reduce the cost of their PC refresh cycles.”

Q: What makes this software so useful for enterprise IT teams?

A: Among the most impactful benefits for enterprise IT teams is the fact that PCmover Enterprise with EMA integration provides them with the ability to have more control and flexibility as they manage their PC deployments and operating system refreshes. This means they are able to operate more efficiently, which saves on labor costs.

In today’s business environment, IT is mandated to modernize remote workforce technology with an emphasis on global and decentralized computing. That includes improved solutions for remote deployment and management of Windows devices. PCmover Enterprise with Intel EMA and vPro device support helps make IT processes easy and efficient, saving both time and money, adding to the list of features that we provide that are not available with Microsoft’s User State Migration Tool (USMT).

In fact, a recent survey found that IT teams prefer PCmover Enterprise over USMT, with a significant percentage of respondents stating that USMT was difficult to implement.

Organizations interested in an easy, efficient, and cost-effective solution for remotely managing and executing PC deployments and operating system refreshes for all endpoints, including those used by hybrid and remote workers, can find more information at enterprise.laplink.com.
