Below is our recent interview with Anabel Blesch, Public Relations Coordinator at Jelly Academy:
Q: Could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to your company?
A: Jelly Academy is a Canadian course led by an Indigenous instructor, and Award Winning Makreter, Darian Kovacs, that offers future-focused training, rapid reskilling, micro-training, and digital skills training. We provide a 6-week intensive program that teaches the best practices and skills in digital marketing, and is geared towards those who are looking to begin their career or businesses who need to upgrade the skills of their marketing department.
Q: Any highlights on your recent announcement?
A: Jelly Academy has a high success rate for graduates: 94% who are without employment get a job within 4 months of graduation. We set up students for success with clear objectives and tools to apply to their digital marketing careers or existing businesses. There is no other course like Jelly Academy that offers in-depth training that is live and adaptable to the current climate of the industry.
Q: Can you give us more insights into your offering?
A: Jelly Academy’s primary course is a 6-week program in digital marketing. This program covers topics of social media, public relations, SEO, Google Ads, Facebook and Instagram ads, and Google Analytics, each having their own respective week to dive deeper into the material. The program helps teach students the ins and outs of each of these marketing functions, and how they can apply them to their current or future positions.
Jelly Academy is created and taught by industry professionals who can apply real-life experience and first-hand knowledge to the course material. Each of the 6 sessions are conducted live and updated to meet the ever-changing landscape of the media and marketing industry. Along with the live teaching sessions, there are additional certifications and learning opportunities that include certifications in industry recognized platforms like Google, Facebook, SEMRush, and Hootsuite.
Q: What can we expect from your company in the next 6 months? What are your plans?
A: Our team is working on conducting quarterly surveys with agency owners to gain insights on what their resume expectations are for their future hires. These expectations would include certifications and skills that would be needed to fulfill open positions. We’ll take these insights and apply it to our course material to ensure our teachings and certificates are in line with the job market to set up potential employers and employees for success.
Q: What is the best thing about your company that people might not know about?
A: Removing financial barriers to continued learning for students is a key focus for Jelly Academy. We’ve focused on providing scholarship opportunities to open more doors for students to join the digital marketing workforce. Some scholarships include our Women in Digital Scholarship, BIPOC Scholarship, or teaming up with different organizations to offer their members scholarships. Additionally, we are a government certified program which allows for students to access funding opportunities through us and not compromise their career goals.
