Q: Could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to your company?
A: Half Helix is a collaborative digital agency that is building, growing, and guiding the next generation of e-commerce brands. Independently owned and developer founded, we service the largest brands on Shopify Plus. Headquartered in New York, the agency has garnered critical acclaim both for its design and development work. From creating a world-class user experience, building a pixel-perfect front-end, to integrating a website into operational systems – Half Helix specializes in making businesses come to life online.
Q: Any highlights on your recent announcement?
A: We are very excited to acquire Able Sense, a Halifax-based Shopify e-commerce studio which has partnered with emerging DTC and established omnichannel brands in the B2B e-commerce space. Half Helix will continue to partner with enterprise brands to modernize the e-commerce experience, and Able Sense will collaborate with emerging and mid-market merchants across a range of cost-effective delivery models. Together, we have a strengthened ability to support a multitude of organizations agnostic of size and business needs to deliver increasingly complex, dynamic, and sleek end products.
Q: Can you give us more insights into your offering?
A: We offer full-stack engineering and UX/UI design in equal parts to bridge the gap between developing strategies and executing them effectively and on budget, with client-facing technical leadership and shared talent resourcing. From building complex backend integrations to bringing heritage brands into the digital age, we like a challenge. We solve complex technical and architectural issues using modern web technology. We work with brands migrating to Shopify Plus and existing Shopify Plus brands for redesigns and ongoing innovations. We also do custom design or development work that is platform agnostic. We have also done a number of Headless builds to support unique use cases (including the first Hydrogen site).
Q: What can we expect from your company in next 6 months? What are your plans?
A: With the introduction of cross-team practices, Half Helix and Able Sense will refine their existing delivery model, implement best practices developed at Half Helix, and aim to grow their collective topline revenue by +100% by the close of 2024.
Q: What is the best thing about your company that people might not know about?
A: We are a group of passionate designers, developers, and technologists committed to building modern, thoughtful experiences in a world of constant evolution. Our binding element is that everyone on the team is a builder, across functions. Each contributor loves being a part of the creative process and dispatching their projects. We remain an independent agency, with the ability to set our vision and goals without the input of investors. This allows us to prioritize people, grow sustainably, and stay focused on our expertise without diluting our offerings.
