Below is our interview with Gary Erickson, Managing Partner at Executive Search Partners:

Q: What is the story behind Executive Search Partners, how did you start?

A: I started a very successful IT Services Company in Michigan called Great Lakes Technologies Group in 1996. We were named Best Place to Work in Detroit 4 years in a row. We won Ernst and Young’s Entrpreneur of the Year Award in 2002. We sold the company in late 2002 except for the search part of the business. I kept that and named the search company, Executive Search Partners. As we grew I added other CIO’s as Partners.

We have done searches for clients in over 25 states and 4 countries. We have been recognized for the quality of our search work several times. Forbes Magazine recognized us as one of the Top Executive Search Companies in North America for 2017.

Q: Tell us about your team?

A: 4 ex CIO’s all from multi Billion $ companies. 2 Senior IT executives, and one very experienced IT recruiter who had his own company.

Q: How do you position yourself in the current domain?

A: We are the only IT focused search company founded by and run by ex CIO’s. We really know IT.

Q: What kinds of positions did you fill in 2017?

A: We filled IT management positions that included CIO, Vice President, CTO, Director, CISO, Manager and Senior Project Manager. For our consulting clients we filled position that included Sales Executive, Vice President, Director, Client Partner and Senior Project Manager.

Q: What can we expect from Executive Search Partners in 2018?

A: With the passage of the tax reform, 2018 looks like a banner year for hiring. With unemployment being low, finding quality IT people will become even harder for companies. Fortunately our clients have Executive Search Partners to help them. We expect to continue our high quality IT search services for our clients with a continuing strong growth in placements..
