Q: This is the first time we have spoken. Can you provide a brief overview of Perigee?
A: We are building a connected device management solution providing device-specific security, real-time visibility, and performance enhancement for the entire life cycle of new and legacy devices for enterprise customers.
Q: What are some of the real-world results enterprises can expect with your solution?
A: Perigee specializes in three things for our customers: visibility, security, and performance. We make your connected devices visible to you whether you knew they were on your network or not, we automatically stop threats before they reach the device, and increase the device’s overall performance through tracking metrics such as availability and extending the overall life cycle of the device.

Q: You’ve recently raised $1,500,000 in pre-seed funding; can you tell us something more?
A: The round was led by Outsiders Fund’s Austin McChord and Teddy Seem, with additional investment from Westport, Contour Venture Partners, BBG Ventures, Innospark Ventures, and a couple of individual investors. The newly invested capital will be used to hire new talent, further develop the product, and grow the enterprise within environmental controls and beyond.
Q: What can we expect from Perigee in the next six months?
A: We are excited to be growing in every dimension: furthering product development, expanding the team, and scaling the number of end users.

Q: What’s the best thing about Perigee that people might not know about?
A: Like most founders, what continues to keep me motivated is the opportunity to work with creative and talented people on an everyday basis. One thing that people might not know about Perigee is that that number of people isn’t limited to the size of the startup at that time. We know that the Perigee team is bigger than just the people listed as full time on the LinkedIn page, and at every opportunity we connect our direct team with people in our community who can provide mentorship, subject matter expertise, and even career or graduate school advice. It’s a way as a company we can strive to offer the creativity, flexibility, and agility that comes with a startup, at the same time as taking advantage of the lessons one can learn in different business contexts as well.
