Below is our recent interview with Shir David, Product Manager at AironWorks:

Q: Could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to your company?

A:
AironWorks is a cybersecurity awareness startup focusing on targeted phishing & social engineering simulations to enhance organization’s security from the employee level up. Unlike existing solutions that focus on fixed email templates, AironWork’s solution utilizes AI technology to collect & study real-time public information about client companies to create realistic, effective social attacks tailored specifically for the organization and its employees, making them much better prepared for a real spear-phishing attack.

AironWork’s attacks are not limited only to email, and can be done through various interfaces such as text messages, social media, web apps and more.
By conducting the simulation and analyzing its results, AironWork’s solution is able to detect multiple types of in-secure employee behaviors in the cyberspace in real-time, and has proven to increase employee awareness to phishing attacks by more than 80% in just a short period of time.

Q: Any highlights on your recent announcement?

A:
AironWorks recently took home two platinum awards in the “Startup battle”, the main event of the TechCrunch Tokyo 2021 conference, which took place on December 2nd and 3rd in Tokyo, Japan. Out of only six startups to advance to the final round, AironWorks was the only one to take home two platinum awards: the Amazon Web Services Japan Award, and the oVice Award. AironWorks was the only startup participating in the final to be less than one year old, showing the incredible promise of its cybersecurity solution. The line of judges was so impressed by AironWork’s pitch, that one of the companies sponsoring the event is now in talks to implement AironWork’s solution on its systems.

Q: Can you give us more insights into your offering?

A: AironWork’s platform is suited not only for organization’s CISOs but also for regular employees. The CISO can use the platform to see the phishing simulations executing the system, predictions about how potential attackers can try to hack the organization, and a list of actions he can perform to prevent them. Other employees can also enter the system and conduct a variety of actions such as checking simulation results, engaging with the educational content, and consult with our AI to check if they’re currently under attack.

Q: What can we expect from your company in the next 6 months? What are your plans?

A: AironWorks is already working closely with several major Japanese companies, and is about to embark on a partnership with a major Japanese bank. AironWorks is also working on expanding its client base in the USA and is already in talks with major US companies. In the meantime, AironWork’s development team, composed of ex-members of the elite cybersecurity IDF unit 8200, is working on expanding the product capabilities and on improving the existing interface.

Q: What is the best thing about your company that people might not know about?

A: AironWorks is composed of a dual team in both Israel and Japan, creating a product development process where the two completely different mind-sets combine and synergize, making use of the best of both worlds. This creates a wholly unique cybersecurity solution that can cater to the needs of companies all across the globe.
