Below is our recent interview with Guljeet Nagpaul, Chief Product Officer at AccelQ:
Q: What is AccelQ?
A: ACCELQ is the only cloud-based continuous testing platform that seamlessly automates API and web testing without writing a single line of code. Automation is integrated with manual testing process under one umbrella, making it possible for Agile teams to manage the QA lifecycle effectively. IT teams of all sizes use ACCELQ to accelerate their testing by leveraging in-sprint automation as well as its lifecycle automation approach that spans test design, planning, test generation, and execution.
Q: Why is digital transformation so important today?
A: Business transformations are driven by the following: technical innovation, customer demand, and competition. The speed at which new technical innovations are being released to the market is rising exponentially, making it very difficult to maintain a position of industry leadership without the ability to accelerate new solutions to market. Companies are under ever-increasing competitive pressure to compete digitally, and long-established business models are being disrupted by “born digital” start-ups. And finally, customers expect exceptional, seamless service delivered via intuitive interfaces across all touchpoints.

Q: What industries are you seeing benefit most?
A: We are seeing Digital transformation as critical for healthcare, retail, and the foodservice industry. Our customer Peapod is a national foodservice business that coincidentally went through their digital transformation just as we went towards the “stay at home” timeframe. In their case, having their digital presence always-on was critical for their food delivery services all over the East Coast.
Q: What is test automation and why is it so important for a digital presence?
A: Achieving an accelerated rate of technical innovation means eliminating bottlenecks. One of the biggest bottlenecks is manual testing. Companies are limited both in the time they can dedicate to testing as well as in the number of resources they have available. The number one advantage of automation is the ability to clone and multi-thread tests. If you have a hundred test cases to execute, run it across ten or more machines, and complete the process in a fraction of the time. Not to mention the additional advantages of automation such as repeatability, accuracy, reusability, and audit trails.
Q: What trends do you see for businesses as we emerge from the pandemic state?
A: I believe we will continue to see a laser-like focus on efficiency. Efficient spending, efficient tools, methodologies, and processes. Everything from adopting work-from-home as a way to cut office space costs to technology accelerators to reduce development time and costs.

Q: How is AccelQ providing value to customers and what benefits are customers seeing?
A: Here’s what a customer has had to say:
Three times faster tests creation, seventy percent less test maintenance, and up to eighty percent test reusability.
All that translates to faster time to market with a higher quality product.
