Below is our recent interview with Fruzsina Léderer from Next Earth:
Q: Could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to your company?
A: Next Earth is the Earth’s original digital replica; a blockchain metaverse that enables the creation of communities derived from non-fungible tokens (NFTs) of real Earth properties. With the Next Earth platform, users can purchase and sell virtual land without the need for central authorities. It’s like a social experiment on how virtual spaces can be managed, governed, and used to back up environmental projects.
What’s more, because each virtual tile on the map is connected to a specific location on our planet, users can be confident that their land will always have a physical counterpart. In other words, it provides a way for people to invest in and own virtual property that is linked to actual physical locations on Earth.
The Next Earth platform is a unique way of using virtual space to create value in the real world. By buying and selling land on the platform, users can help finance environmental projects and have a positive impact on the planet.
In just 9 months, Next Earth has become one of the biggest metaverses with over 240 000 users, 8600 token holders, and 45 000 landowners. And it shows no signs of slowing down. It has the potential to revolutionize the way we think about virtual spaces and their impact on the real world. For many years we have been confined to a vision of what the internet is. But with Next Earth, suddenly, there are no limits. We can explore infinite digital environments and experience things we never thought possible.
Q: Can you give us more insights into your offering?
A: Next Earth launched virtual land sales on August 17 2021 and since then has reached over half a million minted land NFTs. As an Earth based Metaverse, we’re enabling mixed reality solutions for companies, just like we announced our partnership with a major commercial airline a few weeks ago. For businesses looking to join the metaverse, we provide a middleware layer via PaaS offering. Any business can build their solutions using our API suite.
Q: Any highlights on your recent announcement?
A: We’ve just launched the first social responsibility game in the Next Earth metaverse. It’s an interactive game where our users can buy tiles on certain locations to support SEE Turtles’ plastic projects on the same territories. Based on our users’ feedback they enjoy the treasure hunt, where they need to remove trash from their purchased tiles to “clean the territory” and to see if they won NXTT or NFTs. The game started only a day ago but the community seems to be excited about it: they bought more than 70,000 tiles and more than 2,000 USDT donation is raised so far. The game will be active until 2nd June and the aim is to support the implementation of plastic waste collecting project on the involved 7 locations.
Q: What can we expect from your company in next 6 months? What are your plans?
A: Currently, we have three partnership with environmental organizations. We are contributing to the work of Amazon Watch, Kiss the Ground and SEE Turtles. As part of deepening these collaborations we’d like to provide more information about certain environmental problems and projects, to educate our audiences with the help of our partners how to make sustainable decisions, and alongside with these we are planning to do similar campaigns like the ongoing “Clean the ocean” game, with each of our partner organizations.
Also, we are expanding the number of partnerships with the aim of being able to support more environmental issues. We believe that taking action together can make real change and that’s what we are aiming for: together with the Next Earth community making the world a better place with the help of a metaverse.
Q: What is the best thing about your company that people might not know about?
A: At Next Earth social responsibility is its core operations. We’ve created a mechanism that donates 10% of each transaction into a charity pool. Since transparency is very important to us, each month a DAO vote takes place when members of the community decides how to allocate the amounts in the charity pool among our partner organizations. This way Next Earth’s social responsibility is sustainable: business and philanthropy go hand in hand and they are supporting each other. Thanks to this, in only a few months we have collected more than 1 million USD in our charity pool and donated it for charitable causes.
