Internet of Things Inc. (ITT) is a company whose core values are based upon its ability to help businesses and organizations make smarter decisions using advanced artificial intelligence, deep machine learning and data science techniques. Below is our recent interview with Michael Lende, President and CEO at Internet of Things :

Q: Michael, can you tell us something more about your technology and your solutions?

A: Our technology empowers people rather than replace them and helps them achieve something they couldn’t do before. We help our customers harness data and the technology.

Our solutions are used by global automobile manufactures and U.S. government institutions and can be applied to a wide range of industries including retail, insurance, agriculture, air quality and spatial intelligence.

Weather Telematics Inc., a subsidiary of ITT, uses patented air quality monitoring sensors to provide predictive weather risk information for the insurance, logistics, fleet management and public safety sectors. Our research and development subsidiary, AI Labs Inc., develops new products that solve real-world business problems. The joint venture with Commersive Solutions Corp. is developing innovative technologies for use in various public spaces, starting with the ThermalPass™ fever detection system, which is being marketed to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19 wherever people work, play and congregate.

ThermalPass is a medical grade sensor-based solution that is generating a lot of interest from organizations in the U.S. and Canada like universities, property management companies, hospitals, government buildings and hotels. Traditional thermal camera solutions come with privacy issues and are very expensive, costing as much as $15,000 compared to ThermalPass, which provides more accurate and anonymous readings, priced at $7,300.

Q: What types of services do you offer to your clients?

A: We offer solutions that mitigate risk and reduce operating costs for companies . We help retailers, trucking fleets and businesses of all kinds run more efficiently. We also mitigate a company’s exposure through our artificial intelligence solutions that are customized through our own proprietary data sets and AI platform so we can accommodate and solve problems for any subject matter expert in any business vertical.

Q: What is the greatest inspiration to the development of this company?

A: The inspiration for Internet of Things was to help businesses solve complex problems with AI and deep machine learning technology to make operations leaner, easier to manage and create a safer environment for our customers. For example, we’re helping companies avoid deadly traffic accidents through our subsidiary, Weather Telematics, which uses a proprietary vehicle mounted mobile IoT sensor network and AI deep machine learning to generate historical, real-time, and predictive road weather conditions for road hazard risk alerts and dynamic routing applications.

To combat the spread of the coronavirus we have developed an AI-driven fever detection system called ThermalPass that uses medical-grade temperature sensors that can capture 400 readings per second and detect body temperature with an accuracy of +/- 0.2°C. ThermalPass is one of the most reliable and accurate fever detection devices on the market.

Q: What differentiates your company from others?

A: We’re a purpose-driven company, which means we take the human condition into consideration with everything we develop, design and engineer. For example, with ThermalPass we did not want to compromise peoples’ privacy so we developed a very streamlined, unobtrusive system whereby individuals pass through the system much like a metal detector without stopping. The system instantly and quietly alerts security personnel of any person with a higher-than-normal temperature, enabling staff to conduct a secondary check and maintain traffic flow. What’s more, ThermalPass is sensor-based so there are no cameras used that could possibly encroach on one’s privacy or use facial recognition software to record date.

Q: Is there anything else you’d like to add?

A: We have a very unique team with varying and distinct competencies for both products we are launching right now – Alert Fleet and ThermalPass – and the commonality is that both products solve for the following three things:

1. a safer environment and saving lives.
2. provide cost savings for our clients and customers who adopt and purchase our products.
3. our products help our customers operate their businesses more efficiently.

We help businesses and government departments develop better insight into any and all data they collect. As a result, our customers are better able to identify trends, flag and avoid potential problems, cut costs, enhance productivity, and interpret complex information to help determine better business outcomes and ultimately assist in making better decisions.
