Below is our recent interview with Jeff Rosset, the Founder & CEO at Sales Assembly:

Q: Jeff, can you tell us something more about the Sales Assembly family and problem you are solving?

A: Over the past 10+ years, the overall landscape for Tech & SaaS companies experienced a massive revolution. As a result, many outstanding resources became available for areas like raising capital, recruiting, marketing/PR, real estate, software engineers, and product development. Ironically, tools, support & community for the sales & revenue functions of these companies had consistently been overlooked and/or were difficult to come by.

So, in the spring of 2017, we set out to wrap our arms around the problem and see if we could help solve it. We planned a handful of events in Chicago with the sole purpose of bringing together sales leaders from local tech companies. The purpose was to provide a forum to connect, share ideas, and learn from each other. We also ran a couple of events focused on SDR and AE training.

After each event we did, the feedback was the same – “That was awesome! What’s next…and can I bring others from my company?” After this mini-experiment, we realized there was, in fact, a need – and a problem to be solved…but one much larger than we had actually thought. As it turned out, not only did sales leaders desire a community to call their own, but in addition, they needed one single trusted resource to turn to, in order to get help/support with everything they needed as they scaled.

Fast forward 3 years later, we’ve welcomed over 120 of the best B2B tech companies into the Sales Assembly family. We do north of 100 events a year. We have built out dozens of resources for our members. We’re rolling out new programs and initiatives every month. And we’re really just getting started….

Q: What is your mission?

A: Sales Assembly’s mission is to help the best growth-stage Tech & SaaS companies Scale Smarter, by providing Collaborative-based Learning, Strategy, Workshops & Training, Peer Communities, Resources, Access to Talent, and everything else they need, all through a unique all-in-one platform.

Q: Can you tell us something more about your membership?

A: Our members are all high-growth B2B tech companies who are some of the most exciting companies in the country. The interesting thing is that while they all sell different technologies to different clients, many of them are facing the same challenges, and trying to solve the same problems…which is why being a part of a community with their peers is so valuable.

Q: What’s the best thing about Sales Assembly that people might not know about?

A: Early on we identified the unfortunate reality that tech sales is still overtly dominated by white males – especially as you get higher and higher up in the org chart. So while we dont do the hiring for our members, we do our best to try and offer resources to our members to help play our role in solving this clear issue. Things like meetups for women sales leaders, sales management training programs for people of color, etc.

Q: Can you tell us something about your recent announcement?

A: Since officially launching our national expansion, we’ve already had 10 new members from multiple states get involved. It’s humbling to see the value that a model like ours is able to provide during times like this.
