Below is our recent interview with Elliott Verreault, CEO at AKTEK:

Q: Could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to your company?

A: AKTEK helps organizations succeed in high-risk contexts with the power of an information fusion system they can configure, deploy and manage themselves, all without having to write a single line of code. With our end-to-end data management product, our clients can easily and securely collect, store and process mission critical data to maximize ROI and minimize risks to staff, assets and reputation.

Q: Any highlights on your recent announcement?

A: We were especially excited to bring in new strategic investors from the US and the UK with decades of experience serving defense and commercial clients around the world on security and risk management issues. Their input, guidance and networks are and will continue to be instrumental to our growth at AKTEK.

Q: Can you give us more insights into your offering?

A: No code data systems are great because they put the end user in the driving seat again, architecting systems that work for them with nothing lost in translation with software engineers. That said, historically, no code solutions have been ill-suited for enterprise or government given their imprecise data governance mechanisms and overly simplistic workflows. This is changing with our platform.

Our solution allows our clients to collect primary data from the field, recycle existing dormant or siloed data inside the enterprise and tap into open or paid third party sources (social media, digital news, geolocation data, satellite imagery, etc). All of that information is then aggregated on an architecture they can iterate on the fly, processed following workflows they design and subjected to micro-permissions they set for maximum security. The output is dynamic data fusion dashboards they create and consult to aid decision-making, in real-time.

Q: What can we expect from your company in next 6 months? What are your plans?

A: You can expect mobile and offline support to be added to our platform as well as user-driven, no-code third party data integration and enhanced data visualization capabilities. We’re also revamping the application for better user interface and experience to facilitate user onboarding to match our ambitious growth plans.

Q: What is a great thing about your company that people might not know about?

A: Many people know that our technology is used today to monitor pirates and fight extremist groups in the Horn of Africa, monitor ceasefire agreements in Eastern Europe and protect borders and fight terrorists in the Middle East. Fewer people have heard about our work in the private sector which is equally interesting, especially in today’s fast-changing world. We’ve been in emerging markets like Latin America for nearly 5 years now serving energy, extractive, utility and infrastructure companies, helping their corporate social responsibility, risk and security teams with secure end-to-end data fusion systems and are excited about serving more clients there and beyond in the future.
